The Apprentices Act, 1961 regulates training programs for apprentices in different industries. The act has mandated that employers in certain industries should engage apprentices in designated trades for on-the-job apprentice training. To join the training candidates, require to have a National trade certificate from the National Council for Vocational Training. Educational qualification for apprenticeship training

Graduate Apprentice

Persons holding a degree in engineering or non-engineering field are eligible for apprenticeship training in a designated trade.

Technician Apprentice

A person having a diploma in engineering or non-engineering field can apply for apprenticeship training in a designated trade.

Technician (Vocational) Apprentice

A person with a certificate in a vocational course after completing secondary education from a board recognized at All India Council is eligible for apprenticeship training.
