OPTCL Apprenticeship Recruitment 2026 Notice Out for 100 Graduate, Diploma and ITI Apprentice Posts, Apply Online by October 1

Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL), a Government of Odisha undertaking, has opened applications for 100 apprentice positions for the 2026-27 training year. The OPTCL Apprenticeship Recruitment 2026 covers Degree Engineering, Degree Non-Engineering, Diploma Engineering and ITI trades, with selected candidates undergoing one year of apprenticeship training at OPTCL units and offices across Odisha.

Online registration started on September 2, 2026 and will close at 11:59 PM on October 1. Candidates must be Indian nationals belonging to Odisha and should have passed the relevant qualification during the academic years 2023-24, 2024-25 or 2025-26. Depending on the apprentice category, qualifications include B.E./B.Tech, Diploma, ITI, MBA, M.Com, LLB and related degrees.

The monthly stipend is ₹12,300 for Degree Engineering and Non-Engineering apprentices, ₹10,900 for Diploma apprentices and ₹9,600 for ITI Trade Apprentices. Candidates must first register through the applicable NATS or NAPS portal before completing the OPTCL online application.

OPTCL Apprenticeship Recruitment 2026 Notification

OPTCL has announced the engagement of Graduate, Diploma and ITI Trade Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 for a training period of 12 months.

OPTCL Apprentice Vacancy and Stipend Details

Electrical disciplines account for most of the available seats, including 32 Degree Electrical, 20 Diploma Electrical and 33 ITI Electrician positions.

Seats will be filled according to the applicable reservation provisions.

For Degree and Diploma apprentices, OPTCL will pay 50% of the stipend and the remaining 50% will be paid by BOPT through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Discipline-Wise Educational Qualification

For Non-Engineering apprentices, graduates from non-engineering disciplines such as B.A., B.Sc., B.Com and BBA or equivalent are stated to be preferred.

The prescribed qualification must have been obtained through a recognized Board, Council, University or Institute as a regular full-time course.

Passing Year and Previous Experience Conditions

Candidates must have passed the required qualification during 2023-24, 2024-25 or 2025-26. Their passing certificate or final-year mark sheet must have been available as on July 1, 2026.

The gap between the date of passing the essential qualification and the date of joining the apprenticeship must not exceed three years.

Candidates are not eligible if they have already completed apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 or possess one year or more of job experience. Those currently appearing in the qualifying examination are also not eligible.

Age and Other Conditions

Candidates must be at least 18 years old as on August 1, 2026.

Only Indian nationals belonging to the State of Odisha are eligible for this apprenticeship engagement.

Applicants must also satisfy the minimum physical standards prescribed under Clause 4 of the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, as amended.

NATS and NAPS Registration

Registration on the appropriate national apprenticeship portal is mandatory before applying to OPTCL.

Degree, Diploma and Non-Engineering candidates must register through the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS), while ITI candidates must register through the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) portal.

Candidates must obtain their registration or enrolment number before completing the OPTCL application.

Stipend and Training Period

The apprenticeship will run for one year (12 months). Training will take place at different OPTCL units and offices across Odisha.

OPTCL will not provide accommodation or an allowance in lieu of accommodation.

Completion of the apprenticeship does not create a right to regular employment with OPTCL, and the corporation is not obligated to offer employment after the training period ends.

Selection Process

Selection may be made through Academic Merit, Written Test or Interview, depending on OPTCL’s requirements.

The filling of apprentice seats remains at the discretion of OPTCL management and will depend on candidate suitability. No TA/DA will be paid for attending document verification or interview.

Aadhaar and Bank Account Requirement

Applicants should ensure that Aadhaar is seeded with their bank account for Direct Benefit Transfer before completing the apprenticeship process.

The personal, educational, Aadhaar and bank details entered in the OPTCL application should correspond with the information registered on the candidate’s NATS or NAPS profile.

How to Apply for OPTCL Apprenticeship Recruitment 2026

1. Determine whether your apprentice category requires registration through NATS or NAPS.
2. Degree Engineering, Diploma and Degree Non-Engineering candidates should register on the NATS 2.0 portal.
3. ITI Electrician and Electronic Mechanic candidates should register through the NAPS portal.
4. Complete the relevant apprenticeship registration and obtain the registration/enrolment number.
5. Ensure Aadhaar is linked with the bank account that will be used for DBT.
6. Visit the OPTCL website and go to HRD → Training & Development → Advertisement for Engagement of Apprentices 2026.
7. Open the online apprenticeship application and enter the required personal, educational, Aadhaar, bank and NATS/NAPS details.
8. Verify that the information matches the details recorded on the relevant apprenticeship portal.
9. Submit the OPTCL application no later than 11:59 PM on October 1, 2026.
10. Take a printout or save a copy of the confirmation page for future reference.
