- Separate Station Master recruitment planned, with over 1,200 tentative vacancies.
- Selection to include a 100-mark CBT, aptitude test and medical examination.
- Short notification expected in late October; applications likely in November 2026.

Indian Railways is moving Station Master recruitment to a separate Centralised Employment Notice from the 2026 cycle, introducing a single-stage Computer Based Test and a revised syllabus. More than 1,200 vacancies are expected across Railway Recruitment Boards, with the short notification anticipated in the fourth week of October 2026 and online applications likely to begin in November.
RRB Ajmer is expected to coordinate the recruitment examination, which could attract more than 25 lakh applicants nationwide. The vacancy count and participation estimate remain tentative, while the application deadline and examination schedule await confirmation.
The revised framework provides for a two-hour CBT followed by a Computer Based Aptitude Test, document verification and an A-2 standard medical examination. Graduates will be eligible, and the post carries Level-6 basic pay of ₹35,400 per month. The age provision is 20–33 years, including the three-year relaxation specified in the recruitment framework.
RRB Station Master Recruitment 2026–27 Notification Update
