DRDO DIPR Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Notice Out for 24 ITI Apprentice Vacancies, Apply by October 13

The Defence Institute of Psychological Research (DIPR), a laboratory under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, has announced 24 apprenticeship positions in Delhi. The recruitment covers seven trades, with Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA) accounting for 14 of the available seats.

DRDO DIPR Apprentice Recruitment 2026 is open to candidates who have passed ITI in the relevant trade with the prescribed SCVT/NCVET certification. Registration on the Government apprenticeship portal is mandatory, and applications must be completed by October 13, 2026.

Selected apprentices will undergo training for 12 months and receive a monthly stipend ranging from ₹9,600 to ₹10,560, depending on the trade. These are apprenticeship training positions and do not constitute regular DRDO or Central Government employment.

With 14 vacancies, COPA represents more than half of the total apprenticeship intake.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed ITI in the trade corresponding to the apprenticeship position for which they are applying.

The ITI qualification should carry the required SCVT or NCVET certification.

Candidates must also register themselves on the prescribed apprenticeship portal before applying. Applicants should ensure that their apprenticeship profile and qualification details are complete and accurate.

Any trade-specific physical qualification, where applicable, will be governed by the prescribed apprenticeship/NAPS norms.

Age Limit

The age requirement for DIPR apprentices will be governed by the Apprentices Act, 1961, the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 and the applicable provisions prescribed for the apprenticeship engagement.

DIPR Apprentice Stipend

The monthly stipend varies by trade from ₹9,600 to ₹10,560.

Photographer and IT/IT ESM apprentices are listed with a stipend of ₹10,560 per month, while the other notified trades carry ₹9,600 per month.

These amounts are apprenticeship stipends and should not be treated as a 7th CPC salary or regular DRDO pay scale.

Apprenticeship Duration and Conditions

The duration of training is 12 months and is non-extendable.

The engagement is strictly for apprenticeship training and does not constitute appointment to a regular Government post.

Government accommodation will not be provided to selected apprentices. Candidates selected for training will also be required to submit a Police Verification Certificate after joining.

Selection Process

Applications will initially be scrutinized by a duly constituted Board to determine eligibility.

Shortlisting will be based on eligibility requirements and marks obtained in the qualifying examination. An interaction or interview may also be conducted where applicable.

The final merit list will be prepared according to the prescribed category-wise selection procedure for General, OBC, SC and ST candidates.

Selected candidates will receive their offer letters through email. No TA/DA will be paid for attending an interaction, interview or other selection-related process.

Documents Required

Applicants should keep their ITI certificate and marksheets for the relevant trade ready along with proof of SCVT/NCVET certification.

Candidates will also need proof of apprenticeship portal registration, applicable category/caste certificates, recent passport-size photographs and valid photo identification.

Other educational certificates should be provided where required. Selected candidates must subsequently complete the prescribed police verification requirement.
