Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) has opened applications for 108 Graduate Apprentice and Technician Diploma Apprentice training positions for 2026-27. The one-year apprenticeship programme is open to eligible engineering graduates and diploma holders from Tamil Nadu, with online applications accepted through the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal until October 17, 2026.

The CMWSSB Apprentice Recruitment 2026 includes 76 Graduate Apprentice and 32 Technician Diploma Apprentice positions. Graduate Apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of ₹12,300, while Diploma Apprentices will be paid ₹10,900 per month during the training period.

Candidates must have completed the relevant B.E./B.Tech. degree or engineering diploma during 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or by May 2026. The recruitment is restricted to Tamil Nadu candidates, and applicants who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training, or who have one year or more of work experience, are not eligible.

CMWSSB Apprentice Vacancy Details

A total of 108 training positions are available across the Graduate and Technician Diploma Apprentice categories.

Qualification and Candidate Eligibility

For Graduate Apprentice positions, candidates must possess a full-time B.E./B.Tech. degree from a recognized university or institution in the relevant engineering discipline.

Technician Diploma Apprentice applicants need a full-time Diploma in Engineering or Technology from a State Board of Technical Education, recognized university or other recognized institution in the relevant discipline.

Only candidates who completed their qualifying Degree or Diploma in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or by May 2026 are eligible under the stated conditions.

Candidates must be natives of Tamil Nadu and registered with the NATS portal. Applicants should ensure that their qualifying examination marks or CGPA are correctly recorded in their NATS profile.

Candidates who have already completed or are presently undergoing NATS/NAPS apprenticeship training are not eligible. Those possessing one year or more of work experience are also excluded.

Age Limit

No separate minimum or maximum age has been specified for CMWSSB Apprentice Recruitment 2026. Age requirements will be governed by the applicable apprenticeship rules.

Apprentice Stipend

Selected candidates will undergo one year of apprenticeship training and receive a monthly stipend according to their qualification.

How Candidates Will Be Selected

CMWSSB will prepare the shortlist based on the percentage of marks obtained by candidates in their qualifying Degree or Diploma. There is no written examination or interview in the stated selection procedure.

Shortlisted candidates will be informed through the email address registered on the NATS portal and will subsequently be called for certificate verification at CMWSSB in Chennai.

The shortlisted candidates list is tentatively expected in the fourth week of October 2026, while certificate verification is tentatively scheduled for the first week of November.
