The Institute for Plasma Research (IPR), under the Department of Atomic Energy, has invited online applications for 58 temporary project positions under Advertisement No. 08/2026. Candidates can apply for Project Scientific Officer, Project Scientific Assistant and Project Administrative Staff posts until November 16, 2026, at 5:30 PM.

The recruitment includes eight Project Scientific Officer vacancies, 47 Project Scientific Assistant vacancies and three Project Administrative Staff positions. Engineering graduates, diploma holders, Physics graduates and candidates with other specified graduate qualifications are eligible for the relevant posts, subject to the prescribed academic conditions.

Appointments will be contractual or temporary for a maximum of three years and will not provide a claim to regular employment. Selected candidates will work at IPR in Bhat or GIDC Sector 25, Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

Educational Qualification

Project Scientific Officer

Project Scientific Assistant

The three-year diploma requirement applies to the diploma-based disciplines; Physics applicants must hold the prescribed B.Sc. qualification.

Project Administrative Staff

Candidates must hold a graduate degree in Arts, Commerce, Management, Science, Law or Computer Application with at least 50% marks, together with a certified course in computers.

Qualifications must be from recognized Indian universities or approved institutes, as applicable. Candidates with foreign qualifications must provide the required UGC or AIU equivalency certificate.

Age Limit and Monthly Remuneration

Age will be assessed as on November 16, 2026. Relaxation for eligible SC, ST, OBC, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates will follow Government of India rules.

The stated remuneration includes HRA.

Selection Process

For Project Scientific Officer and Project Scientific Assistant posts, final selection will be based solely on the personal interview. IPR may conduct a written screening test if the number of applicants is high; that test will be used only for screening.

Project Administrative Staff candidates will undergo a written test and a computer skill test.

Applications will first be scrutinized for eligibility, qualification, category and fee compliance. Tests and interviews will take place in Ahmedabad or Gandhinagar, Gujarat. No travelling allowance will be paid for attending the written test or interview.

Documents Required

• Recent passport-size colour photograph.
• Birth certificate, SSLC or Matriculation certificate for date-of-birth proof.
• Essential qualification certificates and all semester or year-wise marksheets.
• Experience certificates, where applicable.
• Category certificates in the prescribed Central Government format.
• Current financial year OBC Non-Creamy Layer certificate, where applicable.
• PwBD, Ex-Serviceman or EWS certificates for relevant claims.
• UGC / AIU equivalency certificate for foreign qualifications.

2. Check the discipline-specific qualification and restrictions on higher qualifications.
3. Register and complete the online form with accurate personal and academic details.
4. If applicable, pay ₹200 through SBI Collect. Select “Automobiles/Fuel,” search for “Institute for Plasma Research” and choose “Application fees-IPR.” Include the advertisement number and post code in the remarks.
5. Enter the payment transaction ID, date and amount in the application.
6. Upload the prescribed photograph and supporting documents.
