Office of the Council for Insurance Ombudsmen, functioning under the Insurance Ombudsman Rules, has released the official OCIO Specialist Recruitment 2026 notification for empanelment of Specialists on contractual basis. This recruitment is open to experienced professionals from the Life Insurance sector and General including Health Insurance sector, as well as Independent Indian Insurance TPAs. The engagement is intended for vacancies arising on or after 01 March 2026 in various Offices of Insurance Ombudsman across India. Eligible candidates who are retired, voluntarily retired, or resigned from the insurance industry with substantial experience are invited to apply online. Applicants can apply for only one preferred Ombudsman office. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification & Experience

Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of experience as an officer in Life Insurance Companies for Specialist (Life) posts, or in General including Health Insurance Companies or Independent Indian Insurance TPAs for Specialist (Non-Life) posts. Preference is given to professionals who are retired, voluntarily retired, or resigned from the insurance sector.

Salary

Selected specialists will be engaged on contractual basis and paid consolidated monthly remuneration as per scale. Scale II offers ₹55,000 per month, Scale III offers ₹65,000 per month, and Scale IV offers ₹75,000 per month. In addition, incidental allowance of ₹10,000 per month is payable for metro or major cities and ₹7,000 per month for other cities.

Age Limit

Applicants must be not less than 40 years and not more than 62 years of age as on the last date of application.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of a test in computer skills including MS Office and drafting skills, followed by a personal interview.
