HPPSC ADO Selection Process

Selection is conducted in multiple stages consisting of examination and personality assessment.

Paper I – Screening Test

Paper I will be an objective-type examination conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT) or offline screening test.

The paper will have a duration of one hour and carry 100 marks. Negative marking will apply according to the prescribed examination rules.

Paper II – Subject Aptitude Test

Paper II will be a descriptive Subject Aptitude Test related to the prescribed subject.

The examination will have a duration of three hours and carry 120 marks.

Personality Test

Candidates qualifying the prescribed examination stages will be called for a Personality Test at the HPPSC office in Shimla.

The Personality Test carries 30 marks. The listed minimum qualifying standard is 40% for General-category candidates and 30% for reserved-category candidates, subject to the detailed selection rules.

No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the recruitment tests.
