WCD Gujarat Recruitment 2026 Online Form for 6,843 Anganwadi Worker and Helper Vacancies, Apply by October 14

The Women and Child Development Department, Government of Gujarat, has announced WCD Gujarat Recruitment 2026 for 6,843 Anganwadi Worker and Anganwadi Helper vacancies across the state. The recruitment includes 3,043 Anganwadi Worker posts and 3,800 Anganwadi Helper posts.

Online applications opened on September 21, 2026 and will remain available until October 14, 2026, up to 12 midnight. Depending on the post, applicants must have passed Class 10 or Class 12, while Anganwadi Worker candidates may also qualify through the specified diploma route. Applicants must also satisfy the prescribed local residence conditions.

The positions are contractual/honorary-service engagements rather than permanent government cadre posts. Selected Anganwadi Workers will receive a monthly honorarium of ₹10,000, while Anganwadi Helpers will receive ₹5,500 per month.

WCD Gujarat Recruitment 2026 Notification

The recruitment is being conducted by the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Gujarat, for Anganwadi centres across different districts of the state. A separate merit list is to be prepared for each Anganwadi centre based on candidates’ educational qualifications and marks.

A total of 6,843 Anganwadi vacancies are available. Anganwadi Helper accounts for the larger share of the recruitment with 3,800 positions, while 3,043 posts are available for Anganwadi Workers.

Educational Qualification and Residence Requirements

For Anganwadi Worker posts, candidates must have passed Class 12. Candidates who have passed Class 10 and completed an AICTE-recognised diploma course of at least two years are also eligible under the specified qualification route.

For Anganwadi Helper posts, the minimum educational qualification is Class 10. Women possessing qualifications higher than the prescribed minimum may also apply, with educational qualifications and marks considered in preparation of the merit list.

Applicants must meet the local residence requirement. A candidate must have been a local resident for at least one year. For an Anganwadi centre situated in a rural area, the applicant must be a resident of the concerned revenue village.

A residence certificate in the prescribed format, issued by the Mamlatdar and not older than six months, is required.

Age Limit

The general age requirement for WCD Gujarat Anganwadi Recruitment 2026 is 18 to 33 years as of the closing date for applications.

Serving Anganwadi Helpers seeking appointment as Anganwadi Workers may be permitted an upper age limit of 43 years, subject to the applicable departmental rules.

Application Fee

There is no application fee for the recruitment.

Selection Process

Selection for the Anganwadi Worker and Helper vacancies will be based on merit according to the applicable Women and Child Development Department recruitment rules.

A separate online merit list will be prepared for each Anganwadi centre. Candidates’ educational qualifications and marks will be considered while preparing the merit list.

Existing Anganwadi Helpers applying for Anganwadi Worker posts may receive preference in accordance with applicable departmental provisions. The recruitment details do not specify a written examination or interview as part of the regular selection procedure.

Applicants should keep clear copies of their age proof, Class 10 and other applicable educational certificates and mark sheets, local residence certificate issued by the Mamlatdar, valid identity proof and reservation/caste certificate where applicable.

Depending on the candidate’s circumstances, a widow certificate, marksheet conversion certificate, original mark sheets relating to different examination attempts and the prescribed self-declaration may also be required.
