UPESSC Pravakta Recruitment 2026 Notice Out for 2,607 PGT/Lecturer Vacancies, Apply Online by October 17

Uttar Pradesh Shiksha Seva Chayan Ayog (UPESSC), Prayagraj, has announced direct recruitment for 2,607 Pravakta (PGT/Lecturer) posts under Advertisement No. 06/2026. The vacancies are available across 26 subjects in government-aided secondary schools, including Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Geography, Economics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Mathematics.

The UPESSC Pravakta Recruitment 2026 online application process begins on September 18 and will continue until October 17, 2026. For most subjects, candidates need a postgraduate degree in the relevant discipline along with B.Ed. from an NCTE-recognised programme. Separate qualification requirements apply to Physical Education and Painting Arts posts.

The recruitment includes 2,329 positions in boys’ schools and 278 in girls’ schools. Selection will comprise a 360-mark written examination followed by a 40-mark interview, making the final selection process worth 400 marks. Selected candidates will be placed in Pay Level 8 with a pay scale of ₹47,600–₹1,51,100.

UPESSC published Advertisement No. 06/2026 on September 15, 2026 for direct recruitment of Pravakta posts in Uttar Pradesh. Applications are being accepted through the commission’s One Time Registration-based online application system.

UPESSC Pravakta Subject-Wise Vacancies

Hindi has the highest number of openings with 374 vacancies, followed by English with 285, Sanskrit with 264 and Geography with 248.

The recruitment information also gives a combined category distribution of 1,156 General, 583 SC, 650 OBC and 215 EWS vacancies, with no ST vacancy shown.

Important Dates

Qualification for UPESSC Pravakta Posts

For most subjects, candidates must possess a postgraduate degree in the relevant subject from a recognized university along with a B.Ed. degree from an NCTE-recognised programme.

The qualification differs for some subjects. Physical Education requires a graduate degree along with M.P.Ed.

For Painting Arts (Ranjan Kala), the stated requirement is High School along with a Diploma in Fine Arts and B.Ed. from an NCTE-recognised programme.

Candidates must possess their required educational qualifications by the closing date of the online application process.

UPESSC Pravakta Selection Process

Selection consists of a written examination followed by an interview. The written examination carries 360 marks, while the interview carries another 40 marks.

Written Examination Pattern

Candidates qualifying according to the written examination criteria will be shortlisted for the 40-mark interview.

The final merit list will be prepared using the combined written examination and interview score. Where candidates obtain equal aggregate marks, the prescribed tie-breaking sequence considers written examination marks, interview marks, postgraduate percentage, B.Ed. percentage and then age.

Age Limit

Applicants must be at least 21 years old and not more than 62 years of age as on July 1, 2026.

The date of birth recorded in the candidate’s High School or equivalent certificate will be used for determining age.

Applicable relaxation for reserved categories, PwD candidates, ex-servicemen and other eligible categories will be governed by Uttar Pradesh government rules.

Application Fee

The application fee must be paid through the online payment facility provided during submission of the form.

UPESSC Pravakta Salary

Selected Pravakta candidates will be appointed in Pay Level 8 under the applicable pay structure.

The prescribed pay scale is ₹47,600–₹1,51,100.

2. Open the online application for Advertisement No. 06/2026.
3. Select the applicable Pravakta subject and school category.
4. Enter the required personal, postgraduate, B.Ed. and other qualification details.
5. Upload the photograph in JPG/JPEG format within the prescribed size and resolution.
6. Upload the signature in JPG/JPEG format and certificates in PDF format according to the specified limits.
7. Pay the applicable examination fee through the online payment gateway.
8. Review the information carefully before final submission, particularly category, date of birth and gender details.
9. Submit the form and print at least three copies of the completed application for future use.
