UPESSC Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2026 Notice out: Apply Online to 12,405 Vacancies by October 15

Uttar Pradesh Shiksha Seva Chayan Aayog (UPESSC), Prayagraj, has opened the online application process for 12,405 Assistant Teacher vacancies under Advertisement No. 05/2026. The recruitment covers Primary Urban Assistant Teacher positions under the Basic Education Department and Sambaddh Primary Assistant Teacher posts associated with aided schools under the Secondary Education Department.

Online registration for UPESSC Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2026 started on September 16, and candidates can apply and pay the prescribed examination fee until October 15, 2026. Applicants must possess a graduate degree, the prescribed teacher-training qualification such as BTC, D.El.Ed., Special BTC or B.El.Ed., and a qualifying Teacher Eligibility Test for Classes 1–5.

The selection will be conducted through the UPESSC Chayan Pariksha, a 360-mark written examination comprising 120 objective questions. The examination is tentatively scheduled for December 3 and 4, 2026. Selected Assistant Teachers will be appointed in Pay Level 6 with a pay scale of ₹35,400–₹1,12,400.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must hold a graduate degree from a recognized university in India along with an accepted teacher-training qualification.

The prescribed teacher-training qualifications include BTC, D.El.Ed., Special BTC, four-year B.El.Ed. or another applicable NCTE-recognized D.El.Ed. qualification.

Applicants must also have qualified the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for Classes 1–5 conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Government or Central Government, as prescribed for the recruitment.

Candidates must possess the required qualifications by the closing date for applications.

UPESSC Assistant Teacher Exam Pattern

Selection will be based on the Chayan Pariksha written examination. The test will consist of 120 objective-type multiple-choice questions carrying a total of 360 marks.

Age Limit

For Assistant Teacher, Primary Urban posts, candidates should be between 21 and 40 years of age as on July 1, 2026.

For Assistant Teacher, Sambaddh Primary posts, the stated minimum age is 21 years, with the applicable upper-age provisions governed by the prescribed recruitment conditions.

The stated relaxation provisions include five years for eligible Uttar Pradesh SC, ST and OBC candidates and 15 years for PwBD candidates. Ex-servicemen receive relaxation according to applicable rules, while the specified provision for Shiksha Mitra candidates permits age relaxation up to 60 years.

Assistant Teacher Salary

Selected candidates will be placed in Pay Level 6 with a pay scale of ₹35,400–₹1,12,400.
