Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) has announced recruitment for 101 Personal Assistant and Stenographer vacancies across various departments and organizations of the Uttarakhand government. The recruitment includes Personal Assistant, Stenographer, Stenographer Grade-3 and Stenographer Grade-2 positions carrying Pay Levels 4 to 7.
Online registration for the UKSSSC Recruitment 2026 will begin on September 14 and continue until October 14, 2026. Candidates who need to modify their submitted applications will have a correction window from October 17 to 19, while the written examination is tentatively scheduled for December 20, 2026.
The largest allocation is for Personal Assistant posts, including 22 vacancies in the Housing Department and 16 under the Commissioner, Kumaon Division. Depending on the position, candidates need Intermediate or graduation along with the prescribed shorthand, typing and computer skills.

Post-Wise Qualification and Skill Requirements
For most Personal Assistant positions, candidates need to have passed Intermediate (12th) and possess Hindi shorthand speed of 80 words per minute along with Hindi typing speed of 4,000 key depressions per hour.
The Uttarakhand Judicial & Legal Academy Personal Assistant position requires Intermediate along with a one-year shorthand/typing certificate. The prescribed skill standards include English shorthand at 100 words per minute, Hindi shorthand at 80 words per minute and typing at 4,000 key depressions per hour.
For Stenographer in the Uttarakhand Public Service Tribunal, candidates require Intermediate with English and Hindi shorthand speeds of 80 words per minute and typing speeds of 40 words per minute in both languages.
Stenographer Grade-3 applicants require graduation, English shorthand speed of 80 wpm, Hindi shorthand speed of 60 wpm, the prescribed typing speeds of 6,000/7,000 key depressions per hour and an MS Office certificate.
Stenographer Grade-2 requires Intermediate with the prescribed Hindi and English shorthand/typing speeds, three years of relevant experience and knowledge of MS Office.

Uttarakhand SC, ST and OBC candidates are eligible for five years of age relaxation, while eligible Divyang candidates receive 10 years of relaxation. Relaxation for ex-servicemen will apply according to the prescribed rules.

Selection Process
UKSSSC will conduct a written examination followed by the applicable typing and shorthand skill test.
The written examination will contain objective-type questions carrying 100 marks and will have a duration of two hours. One-fourth of a mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Candidates will be shortlisted for the typing and shorthand test at approximately four times the number of vacancies. Marks obtained in the qualifying skill test will not be added to the written examination score.
