Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Cochin Shipyard Limited, is accepting online applications for seven regular Executive and Supervisor positions at Malpe, Karnataka. Registration opened on October 7, 2026, and candidates must complete their applications by October 28, 2026.

The openings include two Assistant General Manager posts, one Manager post, two Deputy Manager posts and two Supervisor posts. They cover contract management, ship design, hull operations, electrical design, quality control, nesting and mechanical functions. Applicants must hold the prescribed engineering qualification and relevant experience for their chosen position.

Separate selection procedures apply to the two recruitment categories. Executive Posts: Qualification and Experience

Assistant General Manager — Contract Cell

Candidates need an engineering degree in Mechanical, Production, Electrical, Electronics, Civil or Marine Engineering with at least 60% marks.

A minimum of 15 years of managerial experience is required in subcontracting, vendor development, purchasing, operations or management of Government tenders in shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore fabrication or related companies.

Assistant General Manager — Design

Applicants must hold a degree in Mechanical, Naval Architecture or Production Engineering with at least 60% marks.

They need at least 15 years of managerial experience in ship hull structure design, machinery outfit design or hull outfit design in shipbuilding or related companies.

Manager and Deputy Manager Positions

Executive applicants from PSUs, Government organisations or autonomous bodies must have one year of experience in the immediate lower pay scale or equivalent. Applicants from the private sector or contract rolls must meet the prescribed comparable CTC/basic-pay requirement.

Proficiency in relevant applications such as SAP, MS Project and AutoCAD, and experience as a team lead or section head, are desirable where applicable.

Supervisor Posts: Qualification and Experience

Both Supervisor positions require at least seven years of relevant post-qualification experience, including two years in a supervisory grade.

Experience must be in shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore fabrication, a marine-related engineering company or a Government/Semi-Government company or establishment. It will be calculated as on October 28, 2026. Proficiency in MS Project, MS Office and SAP is desirable.

Age Limit

For Supervisor posts, the maximum age is 45 years as on October 28, 2026. Under the general age condition, candidates must have been born on or after October 29, 1981.

ST candidates applying for the reserved Supervisor post may receive five years of relaxation. Ex-servicemen are eligible for relaxation under Government of India guidelines. All Supervisor age relaxations are subject to a maximum age of 50 years.

Executive applicants should check their detailed notification for post-wise age limits, the applicable cut-off date and relaxation provisions.

Pay Scales and Benefits

Selected candidates will start at the minimum of the respective pay scale. Supervisor appointments will not carry pay protection.

The listed approximate Supervisor emoluments are ₹56,896 per month. However, the stated perks and allowances amount of ₹10,500 does not equal the accompanying 35% rate on basic pay of ₹28,000. Candidates should confirm the allowance calculation and total in the detailed notification.

Benefits apply under UCSL rules. Those listed for Supervisors include pension/provident fund provisions, accident insurance, medical reimbursement under the contributory medical insurance policy and leave encashment.

Posting may be at Malpe or another UCSL unit or project site. Selected employees are liable for transfer within UCSL or elsewhere in India or abroad according to organisational requirements.

Selection Process

Executive Positions

Shortlisted Executive applicants will undergo:

1. PowerPoint presentation.
2. Group discussion.
3. Personal interview.

UCSL may shortlist candidates using the eligibility and experience established through uploaded certificates. Only shortlisted applicants will proceed to assessment.

Supervisor Positions

The objective examination consists of 40 questions carrying one mark each, without negative marking.

The descriptive test covers discipline-related questions. Minimum pass marks are 50% of total marks for the unreserved post and 40% for ST candidates.

Supervisor rank lists will be prepared using the combined marks from both phases. Shortlisting for certificate verification will follow merit order.

The SC/ST exemption stated for Supervisor recruitment should not be assumed to apply to Executive recruitment; Executive applicants must follow their notification’s fee instructions.
