Tamil Nadu PWD Recruitment 2026 for 760 Apprentice Posts

The Public Works Department (PWD), Tamil Nadu has released the Tamil Nadu PWD Apprentice Recruitment 2026 notification for 760 Graduate, Diploma, and Non-Engineering Graduate Apprentice vacancies for the 2026-27 training year. Eligible candidates who passed their qualifying examinations in 2022, 2023, 2024, or 2025 and belong to Tamil Nadu can apply through the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal. The apprenticeship opportunities are available across Engineering, Diploma, and Non-Engineering disciplines under the Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act, 1973. The online application process started on 20 May 2026 and will remain open until 25 June 2026. Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend ranging from ₹8,000 to ₹9,000 and will undergo apprenticeship training in various Public Works Department units across Tamil Nadu.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must be domiciled in Tamil Nadu.
• Applicants should have completed their qualifying degree or diploma in 2022, 2023, 2024, or 2025.
• Only full-time regular courses from recognized institutions are eligible.
• Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training are not eligible.

Educational Requirement

• Graduate Apprentices: B.E., B.Tech, or B.Arch in the relevant discipline.
• Technician Apprentices: Diploma in Engineering or Technology in the relevant discipline.
• Non-Engineering Graduate Apprentices: Any full-time graduate degree such as B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., BBA, BCA, or BBM.

Other Requirement

• Candidates must register on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal.
• Applicants must obtain a 12-digit enrollment number before applying.
• Correct percentage of marks should be entered in the NATS portal.
• Provisional Certificate and Consolidated Marksheet must be uploaded during the application process.

2. Register as a student and complete the enrollment process to obtain a 12-digit enrollment number.
3. Log in using your registered email ID and password.
4. Click on “Apply against advertised vacancies”.
5. Search for “PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT TAMILNADU”.
6. Upload the required documents, including the provisional certificate and consolidated marksheet.
7. Verify all details and submit the application form.
8. Ensure the application status displays as “Applied”.
