South Eastern Railway Scouts & Guides Recruitment 2026 Notice Out for 10 Level-1 and Level-2 Vacancies, Apply Online by October 6

South Eastern Railway (SER) has announced recruitment for 10 Level-1 and Level-2 vacancies under the Scouts & Guides Quota for 2026-27. The recruitment provides two vacancies at Level-2, corresponding to the erstwhile Group C category, and eight vacancies at Level-1, corresponding to the erstwhile Group D category.

Online applications for the South Eastern Railway Scouts & Guides Recruitment 2026 will open on September 7 and remain available until October 6, 2026. Applicants must possess the prescribed educational qualification as well as mandatory Scouts & Guides credentials, including the required membership and participation in national and state-level events.

Selection will include a 60-mark written test and assessment of Scouts & Guides certificates carrying 40 marks, followed by document verification and the prescribed medical examination. The age limit as on January 1, 2027 is 18–30 years for Level-2 and 18–33 years for Level-1 posts, with relaxation available according to applicable rules.

South Eastern Railway is conducting the recruitment specifically against the Scouts & Guides Quota for the 2026-27 recruitment year.

South Eastern Railway Vacancy Details

The earlier corresponding Grade Pay is ₹1,900 for Level-2 and ₹1,800 for Level-1.

Educational and Scouts & Guides Requirements

For Level-2 posts, candidates should have passed Class 12 (+2) with at least 50% marks. The stated relaxation from the 50% requirement applies to the prescribed categories. The qualification provisions also cover the specified Class 10 with ITI/apprenticeship route.

For Level-1 posts, candidates require Class 10, ITI or the prescribed equivalent qualification along with the applicable National Apprenticeship Certificate (NCVT) requirement.

In addition to academic qualifications, the Scouts & Guides requirements are mandatory for both levels. Candidates must satisfy the prescribed conditions, including:

• President Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger or Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB) qualification.
• Active membership of a Scouts organization for the preceding five years.
• Participation in two National Level/All Indian Railways events.
• Participation in two State Level events.

Candidates who do not possess the required Scouts & Guides credentials are not eligible merely on the basis of their educational qualification.

Selection Process

South Eastern Railway will assess applicants through a combination of written examination performance and Scouts & Guides credentials.

Candidates progressing through the recruitment will also be subject to document verification and the prescribed railway medical examination.

Age Limit

Age will be calculated as on January 1, 2027.

Relaxation in the upper age limit will apply to eligible SC, ST, OBC, PwBD and other categories according to the applicable recruitment rules.

Application Fee

The applicable refundable portion is returned to eligible candidates after they appear in the examination, subject to the recruitment conditions.
