SGTPS Birsinghpur Opens 95 Apprentice Vacancies for ITI Candidates, Apply by September 21

Sanjay Gandhi Thermal Power Station (SGTPS), Birsinghpur, a unit of Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Limited (MPPGCL), has announced recruitment for 95 ITI Apprentice positions for one-year apprenticeship training. Vacancies are available in Electrician, Welder (Gas Cutter), COPA, Fitter, Turner, Instrument Mechanic and Electronics Mechanic trades.

The SGTPS Birsinghpur ITI Apprentice Recruitment 2026 notification was issued on August 20. Candidates must register and apply through the Apprenticeship India portal by September 21, 2026 at 11:59 PM. Importantly, an offline application is also mandatory and must reach SGTPS by 5:30 PM on the same date.

The recruitment is restricted to Madhya Pradesh domicile candidates possessing ITI qualifications in the relevant trade from a recognized NCVT or SCVT institute. Selected apprentices will receive ₹9,600 per month during training, while selection will be determined on the basis of ITI marks.

The apprenticeship recruitment covers seven ITI trades and is intended for Madhya Pradesh domicile candidates. Electrician has the largest share with 28 vacancies, followed by Welder with 18 and COPA with 17 posts.

Candidates can apply for only one trade and must hold the corresponding ITI qualification. Those who have already completed or undergone apprenticeship training for one year or more are not eligible under the stated conditions.

Preference is to be given to eligible candidates belonging to Umaria, Shahdol, Anuppur, Katni and Jabalpur districts.

Trade-wise and Category-wise Vacancies

The OBC vacancies are subject to the applicable court orders. PwD reservation is stated to apply horizontally in the COPA trade.

Important Dates

Candidates should note that the online and offline applications have different closing times on September 21.

Completing only the Apprenticeship India application is not sufficient. The prescribed offline application must also reach SGTPS within the deadline.

Educational Qualification

Applicants must possess an ITI qualification in the relevant trade from an institute recognized by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) or State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT).

The ITI trade selected in the application must correspond with the apprenticeship trade for which the candidate is applying.

Applicants must also be Madhya Pradesh domicile holders. Candidates can submit an application for only one trade.

Age Limit

Age will be determined as on January 1, 2026.

The stated upper-age relaxation is five years for eligible SC, ST and OBC Non-Creamy Layer candidates and 10 years for PwD candidates.

Stipend and Training Benefits

Selected ITI apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of ₹9,600 during the apprenticeship period.

The stated training benefits also include 13 days of casual leave, 10 days of medical leave and weekly off, subject to the applicable apprenticeship conditions.

The apprenticeship training period is one year.

Selection Process

There will be no written examination or interview for SGTPS Birsinghpur Apprentice Recruitment 2026.

Selection will be made on merit using the candidates’ ITI marks. Where marks are expressed through CGPA or similar grading, the applicable average will be considered according to the prescribed procedure.

If candidates have equal merit, preference will be given to the older candidate.

Final engagement will also be subject to medical fitness, with the required medical fitness certification to be produced as prescribed.

Important Conditions for Apprentices

Candidates should take note of several conditions attached to the apprenticeship:

• Candidates must arrange their own accommodation, as family accommodation will not be provided.
• Required safety equipment such as helmet and gloves must be arranged as prescribed.
• Accident insurance coverage of at least ₹1 lakh is required.
• Selected candidates will be required to execute the prescribed bond on ₹500 stamp paper.
• PwD reservation is applicable horizontally in the COPA trade.
• Incorrect or false information can result in cancellation of candidature.

7. The offline application must reach the office by September 21, 2026 at 5:30 PM.
