Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), has announced 112 stipend-based training seats at Ispat General Hospital (IGH), Rourkela, for candidates from Odisha. The SAIL RSP IGH Trainee Recruitment 2026 covers Medical Attendant, Hospital Administration and OT/Anesthesia Assistant training programmes, with online applications opening on September 5.

Candidates can submit their applications through the IGH online portal until September 20, 2026. The largest intake is for Medical Attendant Training with 100 seats, while seven seats are available for Hospital Administration and five for OT/Anesthesia Assistant Training.

The programme is intended for skill development and does not constitute regular employment with SAIL or Rourkela Steel Plant. Selected trainees will undergo training for one year and receive a monthly stipend of ₹7,000, ₹9,000 or ₹15,000 according to the programme.

Qualification Requirements

For Medical Attendant Training, candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th) or an equivalent examination.

Candidates applying for Hospital Administration Training should possess an MBA, BBA or two-year PG Diploma in Hospital Management, Hospital Administration, Human Resources, Marketing or Finance.

For OT/Anesthesia Assistant Training, candidates must have passed 10+2 and completed one year of Hospital Attendant or Anesthesia Attendant training from a reputed institute.

The programme is intended for underprivileged candidates who are residents of Sundargarh district and other districts of Odisha. Preference will be given to eligible candidates belonging to RSP direct impact zones.

Monthly Stipend

Selected trainees will receive a stipend throughout the one-year training programme.

Medical Attendant trainees will receive ₹7,000 per month, while OT/Anesthesia Assistant trainees will receive ₹9,000. Hospital Administration trainees will receive the highest stipend of ₹15,000 per month.

The stipend is for the training period and should not be treated as a regular SAIL salary.

SAIL RSP IGH Trainee Selection Process

Selection will be based on an interview, with no written examination specified for the trainee intake. Shortlisted candidates will be informed about the interview through SMS and updates on the official website.

Candidates called for the selection process will need to produce the required original certificates and documents. Medical fitness requirements will also apply as prescribed for the programme.

Applicants who have previously undergone similar training at Ispat General Hospital are not eligible to apply again.
