The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is set to conduct the RRB NTPC Graduate Recruitment 2026 for 3,477 vacancies across Indian Railways under Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) No. 06/2026. The recruitment covers graduate-level Non-Technical Popular Categories posts, with online applications scheduled to open on October 8, 2026.

Candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification can submit applications through the RRB online application portal until November 6, 2026, at 23:59 hrs. The indicative notification is scheduled for September 26, while the detailed CEN is expected on October 7, 2026.

The currently approved vacancies include Goods Train Manager, Chief Commercial-cum-Ticket Supervisor, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist/Supervisor (Accounts), and Senior Clerk cum Typist posts. Of the 3,477 vacancies, 2,750 are for Goods Train Manager, making it the largest category. Approval for Station Master vacancies is expected to be communicated separately.

RRB NTPC Graduate Recruitment 2026 is being conducted under CEN 06/2026 for graduate-level posts across different Railway zones and units. Candidates are required to apply online and can choose only one RRB while submitting their application.

RRB NTPC Graduate Vacancy 2026

The 3,477 currently approved vacancies are distributed among four graduate-level NTPC categories. Goods Train Manager accounts for 2,750 posts, followed by Senior Clerk cum Typist with 371 vacancies and Junior Accounts Assistant/Supervisor (Accounts) with 300 vacancies.

Station Master vacancies under Pay Level 6 are not included in the above total. The Railway Board is expected to communicate approval for these vacancies separately. The detailed CEN will establish whether Station Master, Traffic Assistant or any additional categories form part of the final recruitment.

RRB NTPC Graduate Zone-Wise Vacancy Details

The vacancies are distributed across Railway zones and production units. SECR currently has the highest listed total with 503 vacancies, followed by ECR with 439 and NFR with 392.

Other zones and production units in the consolidated category include SCR, NER, SCOR, CLW, BLW, PLW, RCF, Metro Railway, ICF, RDSO, RWF and other applicable units.

Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for RRB NTPC Graduate Recruitment 2026 must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification from a university or institute recognized by the Government of India.

Applicants must possess the required qualification, including the relevant degree/provisional certificate and marksheet, by the prescribed eligibility date specified in the detailed CEN.

For Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist and Senior Clerk cum Typist, candidates will also be required to demonstrate the prescribed typing proficiency in English and/or Hindi on a computer through the Computer Based Typing Skill Test.

Age Limit

The prescribed age range is 18 to 33 years as on January 1, 2027.

Applicable upper-age relaxation includes five years for SC/ST candidates, three years for OBC-NCL candidates and 10 years for PwBD candidates. Relaxation for Ex-Servicemen and other eligible categories will apply according to Railway recruitment rules.

RRB NTPC Graduate Salary 2026

The notified NTPC Graduate posts fall under Pay Levels 5 and 6 of the 7th CPC.

Railway employees are also entitled to applicable allowances and benefits under the relevant rules. Station Master, if included in the final CEN, is expected to fall under Pay Level 6.

Application Fee

The application fee varies according to candidate category. A portion or all of the examination fee is refundable after the candidate appears in CBT-1, subject to applicable bank charges and RRB conditions.

The fee must be paid online through the RRB application portal.

RRB NTPC Graduate Selection Process

The recruitment process begins with the first-stage Computer Based Test, followed by the second-stage CBT. Candidates shortlisted for posts requiring typing proficiency will subsequently undergo the Computer Based Typing Skill Test.

The selection stages are:

1. First Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-1)
2. Second Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-2)
3. Computer Based Typing Skill Test for applicable posts
4. Computer Based Aptitude Test where applicable
5. Document Verification
6. Medical Examination

CBT-1 is a screening examination. The typing test is qualifying in nature, while final merit will be determined according to the post-wise rules specified in CEN 06/2026. CBAT provisions will apply only to posts for which the test is prescribed.

RRB NTPC Graduate Exam Pattern 2026

CBT-1 Exam Pattern

Candidates will receive 90 minutes to complete CBT-1, while eligible PwBD candidates will receive 120 minutes.

CBT-2 Exam Pattern

CBT-2 will also have a duration of 90 minutes, with 120 minutes provided to eligible PwBD candidates.

There will be negative marking of one-third mark for every incorrect answer. Normalization will be applied where examinations are conducted in multiple shifts. Exact post-wise requirements for skill tests and CBAT will be specified in the detailed notification.
