RCI Hyderabad Recruitment 2026 Offline Form Download for 21 JRF and Research Associate Posts

• RCI Hyderabad has announced 21 Research Associate and Junior Research Fellow positions across engineering and science disciplines.

Research Centre Imarat (RCI), Hyderabad, a premier laboratory of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) under the Ministry of Defence, has announced recruitment for 21 Research Associate and Junior Research Fellow positions. The fellowship-based research opportunities cover engineering and science disciplines including CSE, AI, Mechanical, Aerospace, EEE, ECE, Physics, Chemistry and related fields.

The RCI Hyderabad Recruitment 2026 notification was issued on August 15, 2026, and applications must reach the prescribed address by September 13, 2026. Of the 21 openings, two are for Research Associates and 19 are for Junior Research Fellows. The upper age limit is 35 years for RA and 28 years for JRF as on August 1, 2026, with relaxation for eligible reserved-category candidates.

Applications are being accepted in offline mode only. Candidates must send the completed prescribed application form and supporting documents through Speed Post or Courier to RCI in Hyderabad. No application fee is required.

RCI Hyderabad Recruitment 2026 Notification

The recruitment is being conducted by Research Centre Imarat, part of the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex, for research positions on a fellowship basis. Research Associate appointments have a tenure of two years, while JRF appointments are initially for two years and are extendable as applicable.

RCI Hyderabad Vacancy 2026

The recruitment includes two Research Associate positions and 19 Junior Research Fellow vacancies across different technical and scientific disciplines.

Educational Qualification and Experience

Research Associate (RA-01)

Candidates must meet any one of the prescribed qualification routes in the relevant discipline:

• Ph.D in CSE / Data Science / Artificial Intelligence with specialization or research in Deep Learning / Machine Learning; or
• Ph.D in Mechanical / Structural / Aerospace Engineering with work related to design, fabrication, stress analysis and FEA; or
• Ph.D in EEE with specialization in Power Electronics; or
• Ph.D in ECE with specialization in RF & Microwave / Radar.

Alternatively, candidates with a First Class M.Tech in the relevant branch can qualify with three years of research experience and at least one research paper published in an SCI journal.

Research Associate (RA-02)

Applicants must have a Ph.D in Physics.

Alternatively, candidates with a First Class M.Sc in Physics must possess four years of research experience in Experimental Quantum Optics, Laser Physics or Electro-optics, along with at least one SCI journal paper.

Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Candidates can qualify through the applicable engineering or science route.

For engineering disciplines, applicants should have a First Class B.E./B.Tech in EEE, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Electrical, ECE, CSE, IT, Chemical, Mechanical or Metallurgy with a valid GATE score.

Candidates can also qualify with a First Class B.E./B.Tech in the relevant discipline followed by M.E./M.Tech in the relevant field.

For science disciplines, a First Class M.Sc in Chemistry or Physics with a valid NET, GATE or SLET qualification is required.

Age Limit

Age will be determined as on August 1, 2026.

The upper age limit is relaxable by five years for SC/ST candidates and three years for OBC candidates.

Fellowship and Tenure

The fellowship/remuneration for selected Research Associates and Junior Research Fellows will be paid according to applicable Government of India and DRDO norms.

Selection Process

RCI will shortlist applications based on factors such as academic percentage and research work. Shortlisted candidates may then be called for a written test and/or interview, as applicable.

Candidates proceeding through the selection process will also be required to undergo document verification. Those employed in Government departments, PSUs or autonomous bodies must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of interview if called.

There is no application fee for RCI Hyderabad JRF and Research Associate Recruitment 2026.

2. Type and complete the application form with the required personal, educational, experience and research information.
3. Attach self-attested copies of educational certificates, experience documents, caste certificate where applicable and other required supporting documents.
4. Candidates applying for an RA position should superscribe the envelope with “APPLICATION FOR THE VACANCY OF RESEARCH ASSOCIATE”.
5. JRF applicants should superscribe the envelope with “APPLICATION FOR THE VACANCY OF JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW”.

7. The application must reach the prescribed address by September 13, 2026.
