PGIMER Recruitment 2026: 60 Group A, B and C Vacancies, Apply Online From September 3

The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh has announced recruitment for 60 Group A, B and C vacancies at PGIMER Chandigarh and its Satellite Centre in Sangrur. The recruitment covers Medical Officer, Computer Programmer, Pharmacist Grade-II, Library Attendant Grade-I, Animal Attendant, Barber and Multi Tasking Staff (Sanitation) Grade-III posts.

Online applications for PGIMER Recruitment 2026 will open on September 3 and remain available until October 19, 2026. Of the 60 vacancies, 57 are Group C positions at PGIMER Chandigarh, while three positions covering Groups A, B and C are available at the PGI Satellite Centre, Sangrur.

The largest share of the recruitment is for Multi Tasking Staff (Sanitation) Grade-III, with 54 vacancies. Pay ranges from Level-1 at ₹18,000–₹56,900 for several Group C positions to Level-10 at ₹56,100–₹1,77,500 for Medical Officer. Selection will be conducted through an online Computer Based Test (CBT), with an additional interview for the Group A position.

PGIMER is filling vacancies at two locations through the recruitment drive. Chandigarh has 57 Group C vacancies, while the Satellite Centre at Sangrur has one vacancy each for Medical Officer, Computer Programmer and Pharmacist Grade-II.

PGIMER Salary 2026

The advertised posts cover Pay Levels 1 to 10.

Medical Officer carries the highest pay range at Level-10, ₹56,100–₹1,77,500. Computer Programmer is placed at Level-7 with ₹44,900–₹1,42,400, while Pharmacist Grade-II carries Level-5 pay of ₹29,200–₹92,300.

Library Attendant Grade-I is placed at Level-3 with ₹21,700–₹69,100. Animal Attendant, Barber and Multi Tasking Staff (Sanitation) Grade-III carry Level-1 pay of ₹18,000–₹56,900.

Age Limit

The prescribed age limits vary according to the post, generally starting from 18 years and extending up to the applicable post-wise maximum of 30 or 35 years.

PGIMER Selection Process

All applicants will be required to appear for an online Computer Based Test.

For Group B and C positions, the CBT will carry 100 marks. Candidates applying for the Group A Medical Officer post will be assessed through an 85-mark CBT followed by a 15-mark interview.

The minimum qualifying requirement is 40% for General/EWS candidates and 35% for SC, ST and OBC candidates.

PGIMER CBT Exam Cities

The Computer Based Test is scheduled to be conducted at designated examination centres in:

Amritsar, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh/Mohali, Dehradun, Delhi/NCR, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Patna and Shimla.
