Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has announced recruitment for 48 Assistant Agriculture Engineer (AAE) posts in the Odisha Agricultural Engineering Service under the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment, Government of Odisha. The Class-II (Group-B) recruitment is being conducted through Advertisement No. 08 of 2026-27.

The OPSC AAE Recruitment 2026 online application process will begin on August 28, with candidates allowed to submit applications until 5:00 PM on September 28, 2026. Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture Engineering from a recognized University or Institution and satisfy the prescribed Odia language requirement.

Within the total vacancies, one post is reserved for Ex-Servicemen. Three posts are reserved for PwD Category-II (Hard of Hearing), while another three are reserved for PwD Category-IV candidates with Multiple Disabilities.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture Engineering from a recognized University or Institution.

The prescribed Agriculture Engineering degree is the essential educational qualification for the Assistant Agriculture Engineer post.

Candidates must also be able to read, write and speak Odia. The language requirement can be satisfied through any of the prescribed educational or language-test qualifications, including:

  • Passing Middle School with Odia as a language subject.
  • Passing Matriculation with Odia as the medium of examination in a non-language subject.
  • Passing Odia as a language subject in Class VII from a recognized institution.
  • Passing the prescribed Odia language test at Middle English School standard conducted by the School & Mass Education Department, Odisha.

Age Limit

Candidates must have attained 21 years of age and must not be above 42 years as on January 1, 2026.

The prescribed date-of-birth range is from January 2, 1984 to January 1, 2005.

OPSC AAE Selection Process

Selection for the Assistant Agriculture Engineer posts will be conducted in two stages:

  1. Written Examination – 200 marks
  2. Personality Test – 25 marks

The final merit will be prepared out of a total of 225 marks.

Candidates will be shortlisted for the Personality Test in a category-wise ratio of 1:2 based on their performance in the written examination.

Both papers will contain objective-type multiple-choice questions and will be evaluated through OMR sheets.

A penalty of 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

OPSC AAE Exam Syllabus

Paper I covers General Engineering topics such as computer programming, data structures, workshop practice, electronics, surveying, building construction, greenhouse design, farm machinery, farm power, tractor systems, precision agriculture and renewable energy.

Paper II covers Agricultural Processing, Food Engineering and Soil-Water Conservation Engineering topics, including engineering properties of food materials, grain processing, drying and storage, thermal processing, food laws, fluid mechanics, irrigation, drainage, groundwater, hydrology and soil and water conservation.

Candidates should follow the detailed syllabus prescribed in Appendix-A of the recruitment advertisement.

  2. Open Advertisement No. 08 of 2026-27 for Assistant Agriculture Engineer recruitment.
  3. Complete the required online registration and enter personal, educational and other eligibility details.
  4. Upload the prescribed recent passport-size photograph, signature and left-hand thumb impression.
  5. Upload the required scanned educational, category and supporting documents through the e-Chayan system.
  6. Pay the ₹700 examination fee online if applicable.
  7. Review the application carefully before final submission.
  8. Submit the application by 5:00 PM on September 28, 2026 and retain the Permanent Public Service Account Number (PPSAN).

Applications submitted through any mode other than the prescribed online system will not be accepted.

Documents Required

Candidates should keep the required documents ready while applying and for subsequent verification, as applicable. These include the HSC/Matriculation certificate for proof of date of birth, Intermediate/+2 certificate, Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture Engineering certificate and mark sheets, recent photographs, Odia language qualification proof and valid identity proof.
