Faculty Qualification, Experience and Credit Points

The recruitment conditions differ significantly according to faculty level.

For Assistant Professor Grade-I, candidates require three years of experience after Ph.D. or six years of total teaching and research experience in a reputed academic institution, R&D laboratory or relevant industry, along with 20 cumulative essential credit points.

Associate Professor applicants require the prescribed experience that includes six years after Ph.D., including three years as Assistant Professor Grade-I at Level-12, or the alternative nine-year total experience condition with the required Level-12 experience. The position requires 50 cumulative credit points.

Professor applicants require the prescribed senior-level academic or research experience, including the applicable experience at Associate Professor level. A cumulative score of 80 credit points is required.

Experience from institutions of repute, R&D laboratories and relevant industry will be considered according to applicable NIT recruitment rules.

NIT Goa Faculty Pay Levels

Appointments cover four faculty grades under the 7th CPC structure.

The applicable level will depend on the position for which the candidate is selected and the prescribed recruitment conditions.

Application Fee

The application fee is charged per department and per post.

Payment must be made online and is non-refundable.

Candidates applying for more than one department or post should account for the requirement that the applicable fee is charged separately per department and per post.

Selection Process

NIT Goa will first scrutinize eligible applications using the prescribed credit-point score, experience, research output and academic performance criteria.

Shortlisted applicants will proceed through:

3. Interview

Candidates employed with Government, Semi-Government, PSU or university organizations should apply through the proper channel or produce the required No Objection Certificate and vigilance clearance at the time of interview. An advance copy of the application may be submitted.

Serving regular faculty members of NIT Goa are not required to submit an NOC or route their applications through the proper channel.
