Candidates must also possess the applicable and updated medical degree registration documents.

Age Limit

The maximum permissible age for engagement as a Consultant (Medical Specialist) or Consultant (GDMO) is 70 years.

NCL Medical Consultant Remuneration 2026

NCL will compensate the consultants on a per-session basis rather than through a conventional monthly government pay scale.

Where applicable, preference for engagement will be considered in the following order:

1. Retired executives of Coal India Limited or its subsidiaries
2. Retired executives of other Public Sector Undertakings
3. Retired Central or State Government officers
4. Private practitioners

Candidates must still meet the qualification, experience and other conditions prescribed for the respective medical post.

Selection Process

NCL may scrutinize and shortlist applications according to the candidates’ qualifications and relevant professional experience. Shortlisted applicants may subsequently be called for an interview or other selection procedure prescribed for the engagement.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview or any other stage of the selection process.

The final engagement will remain contractual and will not provide a right to regular or permanent employment with Northern Coalfields Limited.
