NCCR Recruitment 2026 Detailed Notification Released: Apply Online for 4 Project Scientist Vacancies by September 19

Project Scientist-III Eligibility

For Post Code PS-III-MM1, candidates need a Master’s Degree in Geoinformatics, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, Remote Sensing or an equivalent discipline from a recognised university or institute with First Class or a minimum of 60% marks/equivalent CGPA.

Applicants must also have at least seven years of research experience in relevant fields or GIS applications involving multi-hazard modelling and mapping for coastal zone management.

Experience with web-GIS dashboards, numerical models and field surveys is preferred. A Ph.D. in Geoinformatics, Geomatics, Remote Sensing or an equivalent field is desirable, along with experience in 1D/2D flood and hydrological modelling using tools such as MIKE-21, HEC-HMS or HEC-RAS.

Project Scientist-II Eligibility

For PS-II-MM2, candidates require a First Class Master’s Degree with at least 60% marks in Geoinformatics, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, Remote Sensing or an equivalent field.

At least five years of relevant research experience in GIS applications for multi-hazard modelling and mapping for coastal zone management is required.

Experience in web-GIS dashboards, numerical models and field surveys is preferred. A relevant Ph.D. and experience with 1D/2D flood and hydrological modelling are desirable.

Project Scientist-I Eligibility

The two Project Scientist-I vacancies have different qualification requirements.

PS-I-MM3 – Civil Engineering

Candidates need a First Class B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification with at least 60% marks.

Experience in numerical modelling of free-surface flows and coastal processes using MIKE-21, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS or Delft-3D is desirable.

PS-I-MM4 – Computer Science/IT

Candidates require either a First Class Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Computer Applications or a First Class B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science/Information Technology.

Desirable skills include MATLAB and Python programming for oceanographic data analysis, development of Web-GIS dashboards using ArcGIS Server or GeoServer environments, and Android application development.

Age Limit

The maximum age varies according to the Project Scientist level.

NCCR Project Scientist Salary 2026

Monthly remuneration is fixed according to the Project Scientist level.

Contract Tenure and Posting

Selected candidates may be posted at NCCR Chennai, NCCR Visakhapatnam or any other location in India according to project requirements.

Experience Calculation

For posts requiring professional or research experience, experience will be counted after obtaining the prescribed essential qualification.

A completed Ph.D. can be counted as three years of experience. However, where the Ph.D. was obtained while the candidate was in regular service, only the actual period of service will be counted as experience.
