MTRDC Bangalore Walk-in 2026 – Apply for JRF, Research Associates and Other Posts
Microwave Tube Research & Development Centre (MTRDC), a premier R&D establishment of the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) under the Ministry of Defence, has announced a walk-in interview for the recruitment of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and Research Associate (RA) posts. Located in Bangalore, MTRDC is engaged in the development of vacuum electronic devices. This recruitment offers an excellent opportunity for young researchers and professionals with backgrounds in Material Science or Metallurgy to work on advanced defence research projects.

A total of two positions are available—one each for JRF and RA. Both appointments are purely temporary and will be governed by the terms and conditions of DRDO. The interviews will be held on 8th and 9th January 2026 respectively at the MTRDC premises in Bangalore.

Eligibility Criteria
Education
Junior Research Fellow (JRF):
- B.Tech in Material Science/Metallurgy with first division + GATE/NET
- OR M.E./M.Tech in Material Science/Metallurgy with first division at both levels
- OR M.Sc. in Material Science/Metallurgy with NET/GATE
Research Associate (RA):
- Ph.D. in Material Science/Metallurgy
- OR M.Tech in Material Science/Metallurgy + 3 years’ R&D/Teaching experience
- Must have one research paper in an SCI-indexed journal
Experience
- Not mandatory for JRF
- Mandatory 3 years’ experience for RA (if not Ph.D.)
Salary
- JRF: Rs. 37,000/- per month + HRA
- RA: Rs. 67,000/- per month + HRA
