MECL Recruitment 2026 Notification Released: Apply Online to 122 Non-Executive Vacancies by October 11

Mineral Exploration & Consultancy Limited (MECL), a Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, has opened recruitment for 122 non-executive vacancies under Advertisement No. 03/Rectt./2026. The recruitment covers Accountant, Technician, Assistant, Stenographer, Electrician, Machinist, Mechanic, Mechanic-cum-Operator and Junior Driver posts.

Online registration for MECL Recruitment 2026 began on September 12 and will close on October 11, 2026. Depending on the post, candidates with Class 10, ITI, diploma, graduation or other specified qualifications can apply. The posts carry pay scales ranging from ₹19,600–₹47,900 at the W-3 grade to ₹22,900–₹55,900 at W-7.

Selection will primarily be based on a written examination carrying 100% weightage, followed by document verification and a qualifying skill/trade test where applicable. The written examination is scheduled to be conducted in Nagpur.

MECL Recruitment 2026 Notification

MECL has advertised the 122 vacancies under Advertisement No. 03/Rectt./2026 for appointment to its non-executive workforce. The positions are permanent appointments subject to the prescribed probation conditions.

MECL Vacancy and Salary Details

The largest groups of vacancies are in the technical trades and Technician/Assistant categories. Accountant positions are placed in W-7, most technical and assistant posts in W-4, and Junior Driver in W-3.

Educational Qualification

Educational requirements vary substantially across the advertised posts.

Accountant

Candidates must be graduates and have passed the Intermediate examination of CA/ICWA, along with three years of post-qualification experience in Accounts.

Technician Posts

For Technician (Survey), candidates require ITI in Survey or a Diploma in Survey.

Technician (Sampling) requires a B.Sc. along with experience in drill core/mine sampling, while Technician (Laboratory) requires a B.Sc. in Chemistry, Physics or Geology.

Technician (Drilling) requires the specified ITI qualification in Mechanic (EMM), Diesel Mechanic, Motor Mechanic or Fitter, or a Diploma in Drilling/Mechanical Engineering, along with a valid HMV licence.

Assistant Posts

Assistant (Materials) requires graduation with Mathematics or B.Com, while Assistant (Accounts) requires B.Com.

For Assistant (Hindi), candidates require graduation with Hindi and English as subjects, or a degree in English with Advance Hindi as specified.

Assistant (IT) requires BCA/BCS/BCCA/B.Sc. in Computer Science or IT, or graduation with a one-year postgraduate diploma in IT.

For Assistant (HR), eligible qualifications include BA, B.Com, B.Sc., BBA, BBM or BSW.

Stenographer

Stenographer (English) applicants must be graduates in any stream and hold the required shorthand certificate with a speed of 80 words per minute in English.

Electrician, Machinist and Mechanic Posts

Electrician requires the prescribed ITI/Diploma qualification in Electrical, a valid Wireman Certificate and one year of relevant experience.

Machinist applicants require ITI in Turner, Machinist, Grinder or Miller, or an eligible Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Production or Tool & Die.

Mechanic requires an eligible ITI or Diploma in the specified mechanical/automobile disciplines along with a valid HMV licence.

Mechanic-cum-Operator (Drilling) requires the specified ITI qualification or a Diploma in Mechanical, Automobile or Drilling Engineering.

Junior Driver

Candidates applying for Junior Driver must have passed Class 10 and possess valid LMV and HMV driving licences.

Application Fee

MECL Selection Process

Applications will initially be scrutinized to determine whether candidates meet the prescribed eligibility conditions.

Eligible candidates will appear for a written examination conducted through an external agency in Nagpur. The written test carries 100% weightage in the selection process.

The qualifying cut-off specified for the written examination is 50% for UR/OBC-NCL/EWS candidates and 45% for SC/ST candidates.

Candidates qualifying in the written examination will be called for document verification in a ratio of 1:7. A skill or trade test will also be conducted for applicable posts and will be qualifying in nature, with candidates assessed as “Suitable” or “Not Suitable.”

No TA/DA will be provided for attending the written examination, document verification or skill/trade test.

Documents Required

Candidates should keep their Class 10 certificate or birth certificate as proof of date of birth, relevant educational certificates and consolidated mark sheets, and applicable experience certificates ready for verification.

Category/caste certificates should be produced where applicable, along with recent passport-size photographs and valid photo identification. Candidates applying for posts requiring driving credentials must also produce the prescribed valid LMV/HMV licence.

A printout of the submitted MECL online application form should also be retained for the recruitment process.
