Konkan Railway Walk-in Interviews Announced for Project Engineers, Project Manager, Cook and Other Posts

• Konkan Railway has announced seven contract vacancies for DGM, Senior Project Manager, Project Engineer, Technician and Cook posts.

Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), a Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, has announced walk-in recruitment for seven fixed-term contract positions in the Project Development and Monitoring Cell (PDMC) of its Signal & Telecommunication Department. The recruitment is being conducted under Employment Notification No. CO/P-R/15C/2026 dated August 17, 2026.

The vacancies include Deputy General Manager/S&T, Senior Project Manager/S&T, Project Engineer/S&T (AUTOCAD), Senior Technician, Technician and Cook posts. Depending on the position, candidates need qualifications ranging from Class 7 and ITI to engineering diploma/degree-level credentials, along with the prescribed post-qualification experience.

There is no online application process. Eligible candidates must report directly for walk-in interviews in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, on September 7 or 8 depending on the post. Registration will be conducted between 9:00 AM and 12:00 noon on the respective interview date.

Educational Qualification and Experience

Deputy General Manager/S&T

Candidates need a full-time regular Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, IT, Communication, Computer Science, Civil or Mechanical Engineering. M.Sc. Electronics, AMIE or B.Sc. Physics qualifications are also accepted.

Graduates require at least 10 years of relevant experience, while diploma holders need 14 years of experience in erection, installation, testing and commissioning of Signal & Telecom systems for Railways, Metros, PSUs or reputed private organizations.

Retired Railway Executives up to SG level with at least five years of executive experience in Signalling/Telecom construction are preferred.

Senior Project Manager/S&T

The educational qualifications are broadly the same as those prescribed for DGM/S&T. Candidates require at least five years of relevant experience after graduation or eight years after a diploma in similar S&T project work.

Project Engineer/S&T (AUTOCAD)

Candidates need the prescribed engineering diploma/degree or other accepted qualification and at least two years of relevant experience in Railway or Metro S&T project execution.

AutoCAD experience is mandatory for this position.

Senior Technician

Applicants need a full-time regular ITI/NCVT qualification in any discipline and at least three years of experience in wiring, termination, installation, testing and commissioning of Signal & Telecom systems.

AutoCAD experience is desirable.

Technician

Candidates should possess a full-time regular ITI/NCVT qualification or have passed Class 10. A minimum of three years of experience in wiring, termination, installation, testing and commissioning of Signal & Telecom systems is required.

AutoCAD experience is desirable.

Cook

Applicants must have passed at least Class 7 and possess a minimum of two years of experience working in a restaurant, household, rest house, dhaba or food establishment.

Candidates should be capable of managing a kitchen setup for up to 10 persons and be familiar with cuisines including North Indian, South Indian, Chinese, Bengali, Punjabi, Maharashtrian and Continental.

Age Limit

The general maximum age limit is 50 years as of June 1, 2026.

Retired Railway officials may be considered up to the age of 65 years. Relaxation for Ex-servicemen may be allowed at KRCL’s discretion based on relevant experience.

KRCL Contract Salary 2026

Monthly consolidated remuneration varies according to the classification of the project location.

The remuneration will increase by 4% after completion of each year.

The stated benefits also include reimbursement of Life Insurance premium up to ₹500 per month, Medical Allowance of ₹500 per month and reimbursement of Health Policy premium up to ₹500 per month. TA, hotel accommodation and Complementary Railway Pass are provided for eligible official-duty travel.

Contract personnel are entitled to 15 days of earned leave for every six months and eight days of casual leave annually.

Selection Process

Selection will be conducted through walk-in interviews. Candidates must first report at the venue and complete registration between 9:00 AM and 12:00 noon.

If a large number of candidates report for a post, KRCL may conduct a Group Discussion or another elimination round. Provisionally eligible and shortlisted candidates will then appear before the nominated interview committee.

The final merit list will take into account interview performance, qualification and relevant post-qualification experience.

Selected candidates will also have to pass the prescribed medical examination before their contract engagement is finalized.

KRCL Walk-in Interview Schedule

All interviews will be conducted at Hotel-The Shanti Naturecure on Ganga, 244/14, AIIMS Road, Rishikesh, Uttarakhand – 249201.

Registration is permitted only between 9:00 AM and 12:00 noon. Candidates have also been advised to come prepared to stay for at least two days if required. KRCL will not pay TA/DA for attending the recruitment process.

There is no online application requirement for these posts. Candidates must submit the prescribed application at the walk-in venue.

1. Visit the KRCL website and open the Current Notifications section under Recruitment.
2. Download the prescribed Annexure-A application format.
3. Complete all columns of the application form accurately.
4. Report at the Rishikesh interview venue on the date specified for the relevant post.
5. Complete registration between 9:00 AM and 12:00 noon.
6. Carry the completed application along with original certificates and one set of self-attested photocopies.
7. Complete preliminary eligibility verification and participate in the interview or any elimination round conducted by KRCL.

Candidates should carry proof of qualification, date of birth, experience certificates, two recent passport-size photographs and a character certificate from a Gazetted/Executive Officer. Ex-servicemen should also carry the applicable service certificate.

These appointments are project-specific fixed-term engagements and do not provide a right to permanent absorption in KRCL.

Selected candidates must execute the prescribed agreement and an indemnity bond of ₹50,000 on ₹100 stamp paper. Final engagement is also subject to meeting KRCL’s prescribed medical requirements.

Candidates should verify their eligibility and carry all required original documents to the walk-in venue, as incomplete applications or failure to produce supporting certificates may result in rejection.
