Konkan Railway Opens 5 Assistant Engineer Posts Through GATE, Applications Due September 8

Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), a Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, has invited applications for five Junior Scale Executive (Group-B) vacancies across its Civil Engineering, Mechanical and Signal & Telecommunication departments. The direct recruitment drive covers Assistant Engineer (Civil), Assistant Mechanical Engineer and Assistant Signal & Telecom Engineer posts.

Applications for KRCL Executive Recruitment 2026 must be submitted offline and reach the corporation by September 8, 2026, no later than 5:30 PM. Candidates need the prescribed BE/B.Tech qualification along with a valid GATE score from 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026 in the discipline specified for the post.

The recruitment is being conducted under Notification No. CO/P-R/03/2026. Selected candidates will be appointed in Level-8 with a pay scale of ₹47,600 to ₹1,51,100. Shortlisting will initially be based on GATE scores, followed by Document Verification, a presentation, personal interview and medical examination.

KRCL has advertised five posts for engineering professionals through direct recruitment. The vacancies are distributed among Civil, Mechanical and Signal & Telecommunication disciplines.

The five vacancies include two Assistant Engineer (Civil) posts, two Assistant Signal & Telecom Engineer posts and one Assistant Mechanical Engineer post.

Post-Wise Educational Qualification and GATE Requirement

Candidates must hold the engineering qualification specified for their chosen post and possess a valid GATE score from 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026.

Assistant Engineer (Civil)

Candidates should have an AICTE-recognised BE/B.Tech in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification with at least 60% marks. The minimum is 50% for ST candidates.

Applicants must possess a valid GATE 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026 score in Civil Engineering (CE).

Assistant Signal & Telecom Engineer

Candidates should have a BE/B.Tech with at least 60% marks in one of the following disciplines:

• Electronics Engineering
• Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
• Electronics & Communication Engineering
• Communication Engineering
• Electrical & Electronics Engineering
• Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering

A valid GATE score from 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026 in Electronics and Communication Engineering (EC) is required.

Assistant Mechanical Engineer

Applicants should hold a BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification with at least 60% marks.

They must also possess a valid GATE 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026 score in Mechanical Engineering (ME).

Age Limit

The prescribed age range for the KRCL Executive posts is 18 to 30 years.

Selection Through GATE Score, Presentation and Interview

KRCL will initially shortlist candidates using their valid GATE scores. Up to 10 times the number of advertised vacancies may be called for the subsequent selection stages.

The recruitment process consists of shortlisting based on GATE score, Document Verification, presentation on a given topic, personal interview and medical examination.

The final assessment carries the following weightage:

Candidates must separately secure at least 60% marks in the presentation and 60% marks in the personal interview.

After the applicable selection stages, candidates will also have to satisfy KRCL’s prescribed medical requirements.

Salary and Pay Scale

The Assistant Engineer posts are placed in Level-8 with a pay scale of ₹47,600 to ₹1,51,100.

Application Fee

The prescribed application fee is ₹1,180, comprising a ₹1,000 fee plus 18% GST.

The fee is refundable, after deduction of applicable bank charges, to candidates belonging to SC, ST, Ex-Serviceman, Female, Minority and Economically Backward Class (EBC) categories if they appear in the selection process.

The fee is to be deposited in favour of Konkan Railway Corporation Limited through SBI-Belapur, Account No. 54000000065, IFSC SBIN0040524. Applicants should retain proof of payment for submission with the application.
