Educational Qualification
Technical Assistant
For Technical Assistant (Mechanical), candidates must possess a three-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with First Class.
Technical Assistant (Chemical) applicants require a three-year Diploma in Chemical Engineering with First Class.
Technician ‘B’
For Technician ‘B’ (Electronic Mechanic), candidates must have passed SSLC/SSC and possess ITI/NTC/NAC in Electronic Mechanic trade from NCVT.
For Technician ‘B’ (Fitter), applicants need SSLC/SSC along with ITI/NTC/NAC in Fitter trade from NCVT.
Draughtsman ‘B’
Applicants for Draughtsman ‘B’ (Mechanical) must have passed SSLC/SSC and possess ITI/NTC/NAC in Draughtsman (Mechanical) trade from NCVT.
Fireman ‘A’
Candidates applying for Fireman ‘A’ must have passed SSLC/SSC and satisfy the prescribed physical fitness standards.
The essential qualifications must be from a recognized State Board or institution and must be possessed as of September 4, 2026.

ISRO LPSC Selection Process 2026
The selection procedure differs between the technical/trade posts and Fireman ‘A’.
Technical Assistant, Technician ‘B’ and Draughtsman ‘B’
Selection consists of a Written Test followed by a Skill Test.
The Written Test will contain 80 multiple-choice questions carrying one mark each and will have a duration of 90 minutes. A penalty of 0.33 marks applies for every incorrect answer. Questions will be based on the relevant curriculum and assess theoretical as well as practical knowledge.
Based on written-test performance, candidates will be shortlisted for the Skill Test in a 1:5 ratio, subject to a minimum of 10 candidates. The Skill Test is conducted on a Go/No-Go basis, meaning its marks are not added to the final merit score.
Final selection will be based entirely on Written Test marks among candidates who qualify the Skill Test. In case of a tie, marks obtained in the notified academic qualification will be used as the tie-breaker.

Fireman ‘A’ Selection Process
Fireman ‘A’ selection involves a Written Test, Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Detailed Medical Examination (DME).
Applicants must submit the prescribed Preliminary Medical Examination certificate issued by a Registered Medical Practitioner not below the rank of Assistant Civil Surgeon (Allopathy) in Government Health Services.
The Written Test consists of 80 multiple-choice questions carrying one mark each. Candidates receive 120 minutes, with 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer. The syllabus covers subjects including basic chemistry, pressure-volume-temperature relations, mensuration, properties of gases, basic electricity and hazards, properties of water and General Knowledge.
Candidates qualifying the preliminary medical requirement may be shortlisted for the PET based on written-test marks, up to a maximum ratio of 1:50 according to the number of vacancies. The PET consists of two stages and is conducted on a Go/No-Go basis.
Candidates clearing both PET stages will undergo the Detailed Medical Examination. Final selection among DME-qualified candidates will be made in order of Written Test marks.

The amount initially payable depends on the post applied for. Eligible candidates receive a full or partial refund after appearing in the Written Test.

- Visit the LPSC recruitment portal after online registration opens on August 18, 2026.
- Register and complete the online application with the required personal, educational and category information.
- Upload a recent photograph with a white or light background in JPG/JPEG format. The photograph should be no larger than 40 KB and have a resolution between 95×95 and 100×100 pixels.
- Upload the required educational and category certificates, where applicable.
- Submit the online application and pay the applicable fee through the online payment facility.
- Candidates who do not pay immediately after submission can use the Make Payment facility until 2:00 PM on September 7, 2026.
- Note the online registration number for future reference.
Applicants are not required to send application printouts, certificates or payment receipts to LPSC after completing online registration.
