IRCTC Tourism Monitor Vacancy 2026

A total of nine Tourism Monitor vacancies have been announced. Six positions are earmarked for the Corporate Office, while the remaining three are for IRCTC North Zone.

IRCTC Tourism Monitor Educational Qualification and Experience

IRCTC has prescribed different qualification and experience requirements corresponding to the two remuneration levels.

For the ₹30,000 monthly CTC, candidates can possess a three-year Bachelor’s degree in Tourism. Alternatively, applicants with a three-year Bachelor’s degree in any stream along with a one-year Diploma in Travel and Tourism can qualify, provided they have at least one year of working experience in Tour Operation or Travel Agency firms.

For the higher ₹35,000 monthly CTC, candidates should possess a three-year Bachelor’s degree in any stream along with a two-year Postgraduate Degree or Diploma in Travel and Tourism. They must also have at least two years of relevant working experience in Tour Operation or Travel Agency firms.

Candidates should bring documents establishing both their educational qualifications and required professional experience to the interview.

IRCTC Tourism Monitor Age Limit

The maximum age for UR candidates is 35 years as on September 1, 2026.

Age relaxation is available according to the applicable rules. SC and ST candidates are eligible for five years of relaxation, while OBC-NCL candidates receive three years. PwBD candidates are eligible for relaxation of up to 10 years.

For Ex-Servicemen, relaxation is available to the extent of defence service rendered plus three years, subject to the applicable government guidelines.

OBC-NCL candidates should ensure that they possess the required latest certificate. According to the recruitment details, the OBC certificate should not be more than one year old.

IRCTC Tourism Monitor Salary 2026

Selected Tourism Monitors will receive a monthly CTC of ₹30,000 or ₹35,000 depending on their educational qualification and relevant experience. The stated CTC is inclusive of statutory deductions.

In addition to the monthly CTC, Tourism Monitors may receive applicable allowances associated with their duties. A Daily Allowance of ₹350 per day is provided for on-duty work on board trains, subject to the duration of duty. The applicable amount is 100% for duty exceeding 12 hours, 70% for duty between six and 12 hours and 30% for duty of less than six hours.

Lodging charges of ₹240 are applicable where an outstation night stay is involved. National Holiday Allowance may also be provided according to the prevailing policy when an employee works on an applicable national holiday.

Medical insurance reimbursement ranging from ₹1,400 to ₹2,500 per month, depending on the age group, is also provided subject to submission of valid supporting documents.

IRCTC Tourism Monitor Contract Period and Job Location

The Tourism Monitor engagement will initially be on a contractual basis for two years. Candidates should understand that these are contractual positions and not regular permanent appointments with IRCTC.

The indicated areas of deployment include Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Chandigarh and Jammu & Kashmir. However, selected candidates may be deployed anywhere in India depending on IRCTC’s operational requirements.
