IRCTC Hospitality Monitor Recruitment 2026 Announced for 22 Vacancies, Walk-in Interviews on October 5 and 8

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC), South Central Zone, has announced walk-in recruitment for 22 Hospitality Monitor posts for Hotel Management, Hospitality and related qualified candidates. The appointments will be made on a Fixed Term Contract, initially for two years, with the possibility of a one-year extension based on requirements and satisfactory performance.

The recruitment is being conducted under Notification No. 2026/IRCTC/HRD/SCZ/Rectt.-I/Hospitality Monitors, dated September 16, 2026. Of the 22 vacancies, four are OBC backlog vacancies. IRCTC will also prepare a reserve panel of 22 candidates.

Instead of submitting an online application, eligible candidates must attend a walk-in interview with the prescribed application form and supporting documents. Interviews are scheduled in Bhubaneswar on October 5 and Secunderabad on October 8, with reporting/interview hours from 10:30 hrs to 17:30 hrs.

IRCTC Hospitality Monitor Recruitment 2026 Notification

The IRCTC Hospitality Monitor Recruitment 2026 is intended to engage hospitality professionals for supervision and monitoring of catering and passenger-service operations. Selected candidates may be deployed in trains, base kitchens, static catering units and other IRCTC operations, with duties involving travel across India.

Vacancy and Contract Details

IRCTC has notified 22 Hospitality Monitor vacancies, including four OBC backlog posts. In addition, a reserve panel of 22 candidates will be prepared.

The initial contract will be for two years and may be extended by another year depending on IRCTC’s requirements and the candidate’s satisfactory performance.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess any one of the prescribed full-time qualifications:

• B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration from CIHM, SIHM or PIHM affiliated to NCHM&CT, UGC, AICTE or Government of India; or
• BBA/MBA in Culinary Arts from Indian Culinary Institutes under the Ministry of Tourism; or
• B.Sc. in Hotel Management and Catering Science from a government-recognized university affiliated/recognized by UGC, AICTE, Government of India or State Government; or
• MBA in Tourism and Hotel Management from a government-recognized university affiliated/recognized by UGC, AICTE, Government of India or State Government.

Knowledge of MS Office and report preparation is desirable. The role also requires candidates to handle operational problems and make appropriate decisions while supervising hospitality and catering activities.

Experience Requirement

Experience requirements are linked to the candidate’s age as on September 1, 2026.

This allows fresh candidates within the prescribed younger age group to participate without prior work experience.

Age Limit and Relaxation

The maximum age for an unreserved candidate is 35 years as on September 1, 2026.

Upper-age relaxation is five years for SC/ST candidates, three years for OBC candidates and 10 years for PwBD candidates. Ex-Servicemen are eligible for relaxation to the extent of defence service plus three years, subject to applicable government guidelines.

Only eligible Indian nationals can participate in the recruitment.

IRCTC Hospitality Monitor Salary and Allowances

Hospitality Monitors will receive a monthly CTC of ₹30,000, inclusive of applicable statutory deductions. Additional payments and reimbursements are available depending on duty conditions.

Selected candidates will also be required to furnish a security deposit of ₹25,000 through Demand Draft. A minimum service period of one year is required; otherwise, the security deposit may be forfeited under the applicable conditions.

Hospitality Monitor Job Profile

Hospitality Monitors will supervise and monitor food production, food quality and service delivery in nominated mobile and static catering operations. This may include Vande Bharat, Mail/Express and other trains, Train Side Vending services, Tourist Trains and Bharat Gaurav Trains.

Responsibilities can also include monitoring base kitchens and cluster kitchens, ensuring equipment is operational, checking cleanliness and pest-control measures, managing passenger complaints, collecting and analysing feedback, monitoring manpower and material availability, and ensuring compliance with IRCTC procedures and statutory requirements.

The position involves movement in trains across India according to operational requirements. Hospitality Monitors may also coordinate with IRCTC departments, offices, service providers and other business partners.

Walk-in Interview Schedule

Candidates may attend the interview at one of the notified locations.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. If the interview process is extended, candidates will be responsible for arranging their own accommodation and food.

IRCTC Hospitality Monitor Selection Process

Selection will be based primarily on the candidate’s credentials and performance in the personal interview. Candidates must also complete document verification and meet IRCTC’s prescribed medical fitness requirements.

The recruitment stages include:

1. Walk-in personal interview
2. Verification of original certificates and supporting documents
3. Pre-employment medical examination
4. Final engagement based on merit and verification of antecedents

Offers will be issued in order of merit, subject to fulfilment of all eligibility and verification requirements.

Documents Required for Interview

Candidates should bring the completed application form along with original documents and one set of attested copies. Required records include educational qualification certificates, applicable experience certificates, valid identity proof and category certificates for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen candidates, where relevant.

Two recent passport-size photographs should also be carried. Candidates employed in Government departments or PSUs should apply through the proper channel or produce the required NOC at the interview.

No advance online application is required for this recruitment. Candidates who meet the qualification, age and experience requirements must appear personally at one of the designated interview venues.

1. Visit the IRCTC website and obtain the Hospitality Monitor recruitment notification and prescribed application form.
2. Read the eligibility and contractual conditions before completing the form.
3. Fill in the application form with the required personal, educational and experience details.
4. Attach or carry the prescribed supporting documents and two recent passport-size photographs.
5. Report to the selected walk-in venue on October 5 at Bhubaneswar or October 8 at Secunderabad.
6. Bring all original certificates along with one set of attested copies for verification.
7. Complete document verification and attend the personal interview between 10:30 hrs and 17:30 hrs.
8. Candidates selected on merit will subsequently have to satisfy medical fitness and other pre-engagement requirements.

The Fixed Term Contract can be terminated according to the conditions of engagement, including through the prescribed notice period. Candidates should review the complete contractual terms before accepting an offer.
