Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a Graduation Degree in any discipline from a university recognized by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.

Applicants should possess valid proof of their graduation qualification as required by the bank during document verification.

The recruitment is open across disciplines; however, satisfying the graduation requirement alone is not sufficient. Candidates must also meet the prescribed age and state-specific language requirements.

Eligible candidates belonging to more than one relaxation category will be governed by the applicable combination rules. For eligible SC, ST and OBC candidates, combined relaxation is subject to the conditions prescribed by the bank and a maximum age of 50 years where applicable.

IOB Local Bank Officer Salary 2026

Local Bank Officers will be appointed in JMGS-I with the following pay scale:

₹48,480–2,000/7–62,480–2,340/2–67,160–2,680/7–85,920

This means the initial basic pay is ₹48,480, with subsequent increments progressing through the notified scale.

In addition to basic pay, selected officers will be eligible for applicable benefits such as Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance and City Compensatory Allowance, along with other benefits admissible under Indian Overseas Bank rules.

The recruitment conditions also provide for one advance increment for eligible candidates possessing relevant previous experience, subject to fulfilment of the bank’s prescribed conditions.

IOB Local Bank Officer Selection Process

Selection for the 250 LBO vacancies will be conducted through the prescribed recruitment stages, including an online examination and interview.
