Indian Navy Announces 50 ITI Apprentice Vacancies Under IT-03 Batch at Naval Ship Repair Yard

Naval Ship Repair Yard (NSRY), Sri Vijaya Puram under the Ministry of Defence (Navy), Andaman and Nicobar Command has announced recruitment for 50 Technician (Vocational) Apprentices for one-year apprenticeship training. The recruitment is being conducted under Advertisement No. NSRY(SVP)/IT03/26 for the IT-03 Batch.

The Navy Apprentice Recruitment 2026 covers 13 designated trades, including Electrician, Fitter, ICTSM, Mechanic Diesel, Shipwright (Wood), Welder and other ITI trades. Online registration begins on August 17 and remains open until October 10, 2026.

Applicants require Class 10 along with ITI certification in the relevant trade. Shortlisting will be based on Class 10 and ITI aggregate marks, followed by an interview/trade test and subsequent verification and medical requirements.

Age Limit

Candidates must be at least 18 years old. No upper age limit has been specified in the recruitment information provided.

The age will be determined as on one day before the commencement of apprenticeship training. Applicable provisions under the rules will govern age requirements.

Physical and Medical Fitness

Physical fitness standards will be governed by Rule 4 and Schedule-II of the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992.

Selected candidates will undergo examination by the Yard Medical Officer of Naval Ship Repair Yard, Sri Vijaya Puram before enrolment. Candidates are also required to produce a medical fitness certificate issued by a Government Hospital/Medical Officer.

Selection Procedure

Candidates will initially be shortlisted through a preliminary merit list prepared on the basis of aggregate percentage obtained in Class 10 and ITI.

Shortlisted candidates will subsequently be called for an interview/trade test carrying 50 marks. Document verification and medical examination will also form part of the recruitment process before enrolment.

Application Fee

There is no application fee for candidates, including UR, General, OBC, EWS, SC, ST, PwD, Ex-Servicemen and female applicants.

  2. Complete new-user registration and enter the required basic profile information.
  3. Select the designated apprenticeship trade corresponding to the candidate’s ITI qualification.
  4. Complete the online application with the required personal, educational and ITI details.
  5. Upload the prescribed colour scanned documents in PDF format, subject to the specified file-size requirements.
  6. Upload the photograph in JPEG format with a blue background and the required signature.
  7. Check all information carefully before submitting the application.
  8. Submit the form by 11:59 PM on October 10, 2026.
  9. Download and retain the acknowledgement receipt for use during subsequent document verification.
