Candidates must possess the prescribed B.E./B.Tech qualification or M.Sc in Computer Science for applicable streams, while eligible final-year engineering students can also apply subject to the conditions prescribed in the notification.

There is no written examination for the TGC entry. Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their academic profile and vacancies before proceeding to the five-day SSB interview and medical examination.
