Physical Endurance and Skill Tests

Tradesman Mate candidates are required to complete a 1.5 km run in six minutes and carry a 50 kg load over 200 metres within 100 seconds.

For Fireman, Fire Engine Driver and Leading Fireman posts, the prescribed tests include carrying a 65.5 kg person for 183 metres within 96 seconds, clearing a 2.7-metre-wide ditch and climbing a three-metre vertical rope using hands and feet.
