India Ship Technology Centre Recruitment 2026: 9 Engineering, Finance, HR and IT Vacancies, Apply Online by September 18

India Ship Technology Centre (ISTC), operating under the aegis of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Government of India, has announced recruitment for nine Executive positions at Kochi. The vacancies cover Engineering Manager, Lead Engineer (R&D), Manager (Training & Skill Development), Assistant Manager posts in Technical and Information Technology, and Executive positions in Finance and HR & Administration.

The ISTC Recruitment 2026 notification, Ref. No. ISTC/HR/01/2026-27/RECRUITMENT PH. 1(B), was issued on August 25, 2026. Online registration will open on September 1 and close on September 18. Depending on the post, candidates require engineering, finance, computer science or human resources qualifications along with one to 15 years of prescribed experience.

The highest remuneration of Rs. 2 lakh per month is offered for Engineering Manager, while Lead Engineer (R&D) carries Rs. 1.25 lakh per month. Assistant Managers will receive Rs. 50,000 per month and Executive-level positions Rs. 30,000. The consolidated pay will increase by 3% annually during the contractual engagement.

ISTC Recruitment 2026 Notification

India Ship Technology Centre is recruiting experienced professionals across seven post categories on a five-year contract basis. The tenure may be extended depending on applicable conditions and organizational requirements.

ISTC Vacancy 2026 Post-wise Details

The recruitment covers nine vacancies across engineering, research, training, IT, Finance and HR functions.

Assistant Manager (Technical) has the largest share with three vacancies.

Engineering Manager Eligibility

One Engineering Manager vacancy is available.

Candidates require a Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or Mechanical Engineering along with 15 years of relevant experience.

Of the required experience, at least five years should have been spent as in-charge of a section or department.

Lead Engineer R&D Eligibility

The Lead Engineer (R&D) position requires a Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering.

Candidates must have at least 12 years of experience, including four years in managing large projects or Research & Development activities.

Manager Training & Skill Development

One vacancy has been announced for Manager (Training & Skill Development).

Applicants require an engineering degree in Naval Architecture, Electrical, Marine, Mechanical, Industrial or Production Engineering with at least seven years of experience in the maritime or shipbuilding sector.

Preference will be given to candidates having two years of experience in training or skilling activities.

Assistant Manager Technical Vacancies

ISTC has announced three Assistant Manager (Technical) vacancies.

Candidates need a Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine, Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering and three years of relevant experience.

Accepted experience areas include Shipbuilding/Repair, Marine, Port, Engineering, Ship Design and R&D organizations.

Assistant Manager Information Technology

One Assistant Manager (IT) vacancy is available.

Candidates require an Engineering Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or a Master’s qualification in Computer Science, Computer Applications or Information Technology.

Three years of experience is required in areas such as installation and maintenance of servers, networking and system administration.

Executive Finance

The Executive (Finance) position is open to candidates with Intermediate CA/CMA or M.Com/MBA Finance.

At least one year of relevant experience is required in functions such as Budgeting, Costing, Banking, Taxation, Audit or Financial Concurrence.

Executive HR & Administration

One vacancy is available for Executive (HR & Administration).

Candidates require a two-year Master’s Degree/Diploma with specialization in Human Resources or a Postgraduate Degree in Personnel Management.

At least one year of experience in Human Resources or Administration is required.

ISTC Salary 2026

The consolidated monthly remuneration ranges from Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 2 lakh depending on the post.

An annual increase of 3% on the monthly consolidated pay is applicable.

Age Limit

The upper age limit varies according to the level of the post.

Candidates should ensure that both their age and prescribed experience satisfy the conditions as of the relevant cut-off date.

The application fee is non-refundable and must be paid online where applicable.

Selection Process

Personal Interview is part of the selection process for all seven categories of posts.

Depending on the number of applications received, ISTC may also conduct a Written Test for:

• Executive (HR & Administration)

Applications will first be scrutinized based on eligibility and the certificates uploaded by candidates.

Where a Written Test is held, final selection will be based on aggregate performance in the Written Test and Personal Interview according to the prescribed recruitment conditions.

Important Dates

Five-Year Contract Terms

All nine positions are contractual appointments for an initial period of five years.

The engagement may be extended under the applicable conditions. Candidates appointed under this recruitment will not acquire a claim for regular employment merely on the basis of completion of the contractual tenure.

No TA/DA will be paid for participation in the selection process.
