India Optel Limited (IOL), a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Defence, has opened recruitment for 158 fixed-term positions across technical, engineering and welfare functions. The vacancies include Junior Project Engineer, Project Technician and Welfare Officer posts, with applications being accepted through offline mode.

Post-wise Qualification Requirements

For Junior Project Engineer (Chemical), candidates need a First Class B.Sc. in Chemistry along with five years of relevant experience.

Junior Project Engineer (Electrical) requires a three-year Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering with at least 60% marks and five years of experience. For Junior Project Engineer (Electronics), applicants need a three-year Diploma in Electronics & Communication or Instrumentation with 60% marks and five years of experience.

Junior Project Engineer (Mechanical) requires a three-year Diploma in Mechanical, Production or Mechatronics Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks and five years of experience. For the Optics & Coating discipline, candidates should have a First Class B.Sc. with Physics and Mathematics along with five years of experience.

Project Technician applicants must have passed Class 10 and possess the relevant NTC/NAC qualification. The prescribed trades are Instrument Mechanic/Advance Mechanic for Fitter Instruments, Electronics Mechanic/Mechatronics/allied trade for Fitter Electronics, Machinist for the Machinist post, Optical Worker for Optical Worker vacancies and Electroplater for the Electroplater post.

For Welfare Officer, the requirement is a full-time Bachelor’s Degree with at least 60% marks along with a Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in Social Work, Human Resources Management or Labour Welfare from an institution recognized by the Central or State Government.

Age Limit

The age requirements will be calculated as on October 3, 2026.

Relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable to SC, ST, OBC, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates in accordance with Government of India rules.

Salary and Pay Scale

IDA, HRA and medical benefits may also be admissible according to the applicable India Optel Limited Fixed Term Contract rules.

Selection Process

The recruitment process varies according to the post. Applications will first be screened and shortlisted on the basis of the prescribed eligibility conditions and marks. Junior Project Engineer candidates will undergo a Personal Interview, while Project Technician applicants will be assessed through a Trade Test or Practical Test.
