IIT BHU Recruitment 2026 Notice Out for 53 Junior Superintendent, Technician, JE and Other Non-Teaching Posts

Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi has opened applications for 53 Non-Teaching positions, including Junior Superintendent, Junior Technician, Junior Library Assistant, Assistant Engineer, Junior Engineer and Junior Translation Officer posts. The recruitment is being conducted under Advertisement No. 03/2026-27 for Group B and Group C positions in different administrative and technical cadres.

The IIT BHU Non-Teaching Recruitment 2026 notification was issued on August 24, while online registration began on August 25. Candidates have until 5:00 PM on September 24, 2026 to complete the online application. The largest share of the recruitment is for Junior Superintendent positions, with 21 vacancies, followed by 26 Junior Technician vacancies across five technical groups. IIT BHU Vacancy 2026 Post-wise Details

The recruitment includes 53 vacancies across ten post categories and technical groups.

Junior Technician positions account for 26 of the 53 vacancies and cover several science and engineering disciplines.

IIT BHU Non-Teaching Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must satisfy the qualification and experience requirements prescribed for the particular position. Some technical posts accept either a degree or a three-year diploma, subject to the applicable marks and experience requirements.

Junior Superintendent

Applicants need a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 55% marks, along with the prescribed three to eight years of relevant experience and computer proficiency.

A total of 21 vacancies are available for this position.

Junior Technician Group-I

There are four vacancies covering Chemistry and Physics. Candidates require a B.Sc. in Chemistry or Physics with at least 55% marks along with computer proficiency.

Junior Technician Group-II

Eleven vacancies are available in areas including Mechanical, Metallurgy, Ceramic and Materials Science.

Candidates need a relevant B.E./B.Tech. degree or three-year Diploma with at least 55% marks. The prescribed diploma route includes one year of relevant experience.

Junior Technician Group-III

Three vacancies cover Electrical and Electronics disciplines. Applicants require a relevant B.E./B.Tech. or three-year Diploma with at least 55% marks and the prescribed experience where applicable.

Junior Technician Group-IV

Four vacancies are available across Civil, Mining and Architecture-related areas.

The qualification is a relevant B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch. or three-year Diploma with at least 55% marks, together with the applicable experience requirement.

Junior Technician Group-V

Four vacancies are available in Computer Science/IT-related areas. Candidates require B.E./B.Tech. in Computer Science/IT or a relevant three-year Diploma with at least 55% marks and the prescribed experience.

Junior Library Assistant

There are two Junior Library Assistant vacancies.

Applicants require the prescribed Library Science qualification, which may include B.Lib.I.Sc. with at least 55% marks, a Diploma in Library Science with Graduation, or M.Lib.I.Sc., as applicable under the recruitment conditions.

Assistant Engineer

Two Assistant Engineer vacancies are available in Civil/Electrical disciplines.

Candidates require the relevant B.E./B.Tech. or Diploma in engineering along with the prescribed five to eight years of experience, depending on the qualification route.

Junior Engineer

Three Junior Engineer vacancies are available in Civil Engineering.

Applicants need a B.E./B.Tech. in Civil Engineering with at least two years of relevant experience or a Diploma in Civil Engineering with at least three years of relevant experience.

Junior Translation Officer
