Indian Institute of Management Mumbai (IIM Mumbai) has opened applications for eight Engineering Assistant vacancies in Civil, Electrical and MEP disciplines. The positions will support construction, renovation and maintenance activities at the institute’s Mumbai campus and will be filled on a contractual basis.

Engineering graduates and diploma holders meeting the prescribed experience requirements can apply online until 5 PM on September 29, 2026. Each position carries ₹45,000 per month in remuneration along with ₹4,500 OCA and a ₹500 mobile allowance. The recruitment covers four Civil, two Electrical and two MEP Engineering Assistant positions. Engagement will be purely contractual through IIM Mumbai or an outsourcing agency.

IIM Mumbai Engineering Assistant Vacancy 2026

Civil Engineering accounts for half of the eight openings, while two vacancies each are available in Electrical and MEP.

Civil Engineering Assistant Requirements

Candidates applying for the Civil discipline must possess a B.E. or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering with at least 55% marks and two years of on-site experience.

Alternatively, candidates with a three-year Diploma in Civil Engineering obtained after 10+2 can qualify with at least 60% marks and four years of relevant on-site experience.

The required experience should cover areas such as building works, RCC, roads, drainage, waterproofing and campus maintenance.

Electrical Engineering Assistant Requirements

For the Electrical positions, applicants need a B.E. or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering with at least 55% marks and two years of on-site experience.

Diploma holders require a three-year Electrical Engineering diploma after 10+2 with at least 60% marks and four years of relevant experience.

Experience should include work involving HT/LT distribution, substations, DG sets, UPS systems and electrification. An Electrical Supervisor Certificate is desirable.

MEP Engineering Assistant Requirements

Applicants for Engineering Assistant (MEP) need a B.E. or equivalent qualification in MEP with at least 55% marks and two years of relevant on-site experience.

The alternative route is a three-year MEP diploma after 10+2 with at least 60% marks and four years of relevant experience.

Relevant areas include HVAC, plumbing, sewage and water treatment plants, fire systems, lifts and ELV/BMS systems.

Qualification and Experience Summary

The normal duration of a relevant Master’s degree can be counted towards the prescribed experience requirement.

Experience in campuses, PSUs or Project Management Consultancy (PMC) environments is desirable. Knowledge of the CPWD Works Manual, GFR 2017 and Government e-Marketplace (GeM) procedures is also desirable.

Candidates with working knowledge of Marathi and Hindi in addition to English will have the stated desirable language background.

Age Limit

Monthly Emoluments

All three Engineering Assistant disciplines carry the same stated remuneration package.
