IIM Kozhikode Faculty Recruitment Opens for 28 Assistant Professor Posts; Applications Close September 30

Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) has opened recruitment for 28 faculty positions at Assistant Professor Grade-I and Assistant Professor Grade-II levels. Applications are invited from Indian Nationals and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) for appointments across selected academic areas under Advertisement No. A-02/2026.

The online application process began on August 17 and will close at 5:00 PM on September 30, 2026. Candidates need a Ph.D. or equivalent qualification with First Class, defined as 60% or above, in the preceding degree along with the prescribed publication record. Candidates applying for Assistant Professor Grade-I must also have at least three years of relevant experience after completing their Ph.D.

The openings span Strategic Management, Finance, Accounting & Control, Organisational Behaviour and Human Resources, Humanities & Liberal Arts in Management, Decision Sciences and Operations Management, and Information Systems. Selection will involve application shortlisting followed by a seminar and interview at IIM Kozhikode or its Kochi Campus.

A total of 28 vacancies are included in the recruitment, comprising current and backlog positions.

One vacancy is reserved for PwBD candidates. The institute may increase or decrease the number of vacancies across academic areas according to its requirements.

Assistant Professor Grade-I Requirements

Assistant Professor Grade-I positions are placed at Academic Pay Level 12/13A1.

Candidates require a Ph.D. or equivalent qualification with First Class, or 60% and above, in the preceding degree and an excellent academic record.

Applicants must have at least three years of teaching or equivalent research/industry experience after completing their Ph.D.

The prescribed publication requirement includes at least one journal paper in the relevant specialisation in an ABDC A or above journal or ABS 3 or above journal. For Corporate Law, Psychology, Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science, a Web of Science Q1 publication is accepted in lieu under the stated norms.

Assistant Professor Grade-II Requirements

Assistant Professor Grade-II appointments are offered at Academic Pay Level 10/11 on contract.

Candidates require a Ph.D. with First Class in the preceding degree. Fresh Ph.D. holders and candidates having less than three years of post-Ph.D. experience can apply for Grade-II.

Applicants should have made a significant contribution to at least one published journal paper meeting the prescribed ABDC A or above, ABS 3 or above, or Web of Science Q1/Q2 standard.

The Ph.D. must have been awarded by a recognized University, Deemed University or approved autonomous institution satisfying the institute’s prescribed requirements.

IIM Kozhikode Faculty Pay Levels

The applicable academic level will be determined according to the position, experience and institute recruitment norms.

Selection Process

Meeting the minimum qualification, experience and publication requirements does not automatically entitle an applicant to participate in the final selection process.

IIM Kozhikode will shortlist applications according to its prescribed academic and recruitment criteria. The selection stages are:
