Post-Wise Qualification and Experience
Project Manager
Candidates should possess a postgraduate degree in Conservation, Archaeology, Heritage Management or History.
A minimum of five years of professional experience in conservation and management of Ladakhi heritage is required. Relevant areas include wall paintings, Thangka, traditional architecture, museums and heritage documentation.
The upper age limit is 40 years, subject to applicable relaxation provisions.
Project Coordinator
Applicants must have a postgraduate degree in Conservation, Archaeology or Heritage Management.
At least three years of relevant experience is required in areas such as heritage conservation projects, documentation, archaeological fieldwork or project coordination.
The prescribed upper age limit is 40 years.
Assistant
Candidates applying for Assistant posts should have passed Senior Secondary (10+2).
Applicants must possess practical skills in one or more relevant areas, including historic textile restoration, book binding, traditional fabrics, Thangka conservation and preventive conservation.
The maximum age for the Assistant position is 50 years.
IGNCA Salary and Contract Period
IGNCA has prescribed different remuneration ranges based on the level of responsibility and qualification required for each position.
Project Managers and the Project Coordinator will receive between ₹70,000 and ₹80,000 per month. Assistants will receive between ₹25,000 and ₹30,000 per month.
All 15 appointments are contractual and initially valid for one year. Continuation beyond the initial tenure will depend on project requirements and satisfactory performance.
Selection Process
The selection method differs between the professional and Assistant positions.
Project Manager and Project Coordinator candidates will be assessed through a walk-in interview.
Applicants for the 12 Assistant vacancies will first undergo a practical test to assess the skills relevant to conservation work, followed by an interview.
Candidates must establish their eligibility through the prescribed educational, experience and other supporting documents during the selection process.
