ICAR-IARI Recruitment 2026: 11 Project Staff Vacancies, Walk-in on September 2 & 3
The Division of Genetics at ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, has announced recruitment for 11 temporary project staff positions. The vacancies include Project Associate-I, Senior Research Fellow (SRF), Young Professional-II and Young Professional-I posts, including specialized IT and Finance & Accounts roles. Walk-in interviews will be held on September 2 and 3, 2026, at ICAR-IARI, Pusa, New Delhi.
Candidates with relevant Graduate or Postgraduate qualifications in Agriculture, Genetics, Plant Breeding, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Commerce and related disciplines can participate, subject to the requirements of the respective post. Monthly remuneration ranges from ₹30,000 to ₹42,000, with HRA additionally payable for eligible Project Associate-I and SRF appointments.
The positions are temporary and linked to the respective projects. Candidates must report for the walk-in interview with the prescribed application form and supporting documents. Project Associate-I, SRF and Young Professional-II interviews are scheduled for September 2, while interviews for Young Professional-I, YP-I (IT) and YP-I (F&A) will take place on September 3.

Eligibility and Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess the essential qualification prescribed for the position for which they intend to appear. For Project Associate-I, a relevant Master’s degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences is required.
SRF candidates need a relevant Master’s qualification in Genetics, Plant Breeding, Seed Science, Biotechnology, Microbiology or an allied Life Sciences discipline and must satisfy the prescribed degree-duration, NET and research-experience conditions, wherever applicable.
Young Professional-II applicants require the specified postgraduate qualification in Agriculture, Life Sciences or an allied discipline. General Young Professional-I positions require a Graduate degree in Agriculture, Sciences, Engineering or Arts.
For Young Professional-I (IT), candidates need the prescribed Computer Applications, IT, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence or related qualification with at least 60% marks. The Finance & Accounts positions require B.Com, BBA or BBS with at least 60% marks along with one year of relevant experience.
Relevant research, laboratory, fieldwork, data analysis, IT or accounts experience may be desirable depending on the position.

The appointments are purely temporary and generally continue for one year or until completion of the respective project, whichever is earlier, subject to the conditions stated in the recruitment notice.
Selection Process
Selection will be conducted through a walk-in interview. Candidates will also undergo verification of their original educational, age, experience, NET/GATE and other applicable documents.
Final selection will be based on fulfillment of the prescribed eligibility requirements and performance in the interview.

- Download and carefully read the ICAR-IARI recruitment advertisement.
- Complete the prescribed application form for the relevant position.
- Attach/carry a recent passport-size photograph as required.
- Bring original certificates supporting educational qualifications, age, NET/GATE qualification, experience and other eligibility claims.
- Carry one set of self-attested photocopies of the required documents.
- Candidates already employed should bring a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer.
- Report for the relevant interview at the Division of Genetics, ICAR-IARI, Pusa, New Delhi-110012, on the scheduled date and time.
