The recruitment covers Officer Scale-I (Assistant Manager), Officer Scale-II (Manager), Officer Scale-III (Senior Manager) and Office Assistant (Multipurpose) positions.

The IBPS RRB Recruitment 2026 notification was issued on August 30, 2026, while online registration will open on September 1 and continue through September 21, 2026. Selection varies by post, with preliminary and main examinations for Office Assistant and Officer Scale-I, while Officer Scale-II and III candidates will take a Single Examination followed by an interview.

IBPS RRB Office Assistant Eligibility

Candidates applying for Office Assistant (Multipurpose) must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification.

Applicants must possess proficiency in the local language prescribed by the participating RRB. Working knowledge of computers is desirable.

No prior banking experience has been prescribed.

Office Assistant Age Limit

Candidates must be between 18 and 28 years of age. They should have been born between September 2, 1997 and September 1, 2007, inclusive of the stated dates.

Officer Scale-I Eligibility

Officer Scale-I, also designated Assistant Manager, requires a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or its equivalent.

Preference may be given to candidates with qualifications in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing & Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics or Accountancy.

Local language proficiency is required, while computer knowledge is desirable. No prior banking experience has been prescribed for Officer Scale-I.

Officer Scale-I Age Limit

Candidates must be above 18 and below 30 years of age and should have been born between September 2, 1995 and September 1, 2007.

Officer Scale-II Manager Eligibility

For the general banking Officer Scale-II Manager position, candidates need a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% aggregate marks.

Preference is given to candidates with qualifications in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture-related subjects, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics or Accountancy.

Applicants require at least two years of experience as an officer in a bank or financial institution.

Candidates must be above 21 and below 32 years of age and should have been born between September 2, 1993 and September 1, 2004.

Officer Scale-II Specialist Officer Qualification

IBPS RRB CRP XV also covers several specialist disciplines under Officer Scale-II.

Officer Scale-III applicants require a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% aggregate marks.

Preference is provided for candidates with a Degree or Diploma in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture and allied subjects, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics or Accountancy.

Candidates need a minimum of five years of experience as an officer in a bank or financial institution.

The age requirement is above 21 and below 40 years. Applicants should have been born between September 2, 1985 and September 1, 2004.

Applicable category-wise relaxation will be governed by the CRP RRB XV notification. OBC candidates are eligible for three years of upper-age relaxation.

IBPS RRB Selection Process 2026

The selection procedure differs significantly between Office Assistant and the three Officer levels.

Office Assistant

Office Assistant candidates will first take a Preliminary Examination. Those qualifying will proceed to the Main Examination.

There is no interview for Office Assistant. Final selection will be based on the Main Examination according to the prescribed IBPS rules.

Officer Scale-I

Officer Scale-I applicants must clear the Preliminary Examination followed by the Main Examination. Candidates shortlisted from the Main Examination will then be called for an interview.

Officer Scale-II and III

There is no separate preliminary examination for Officer Scale-II and Officer Scale-III. Candidates will appear for a Single Examination followed by an interview.

Officer interviews will be coordinated by the Nodal Regional Rural Banks with assistance from NABARD and IBPS.

IBPS RRB Exam Dates 2026-27

The Officer Scale-I preliminary examination will be conducted before the Office Assistant prelims. The Officer Scale-II and III Single Examination is scheduled on the same date as the Officer Scale-I Main Examination.
