HAL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Notification Released: 627 ITI, Graduate and Diploma Apprentice Vacancies Announced

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has announced a major apprenticeship recruitment drive at its Aircraft Division in Nasik, Maharashtra, offering a total of 627 training positions. The recruitment covers 355 ITI Apprentice vacancies along with 272 Graduate, Diploma and Non-Technical Graduate Apprentice vacancies.

The apprenticeship is for a period of one year under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Applications opened following the advertisement dated August 14, 2026 and must be submitted by September 4, 2026. ITI candidates are required to register through the NAPS portal before completing HAL’s application form, while Graduate and Diploma candidates use the applicable NATS process. The official HAL notice confirms that apprenticeship engagement is free of cost.

Stipends vary according to the apprenticeship category. Graduate apprentices receive ₹12,300 per month, Diploma Technician Apprentices ₹10,900, two-year or longer ITI trade apprentices ₹11,040 and one-year ITI trade apprentices ₹10,560 per month.

HAL Apprentice Educational Qualification

For ITI Apprentice positions, candidates must have passed the respective ITI trade from an NCVT- or SCVT-recognised institute. Two-year ITI trades require completion of the corresponding two-year regular ITI programme, while Carpenter, Sheet Metal Worker, COPA and Welder are listed under the one-year ITI category.

The remaining 272 apprenticeship positions are for Graduate, Diploma and Non-Technical Graduate candidates. Depending on the discipline, relevant qualifications include B.E./B.Tech, Diploma, B.Pharm and other applicable graduate degrees.

Candidates must have passed the qualifying examination. Those whose results have not been declared are generally not eligible; the official FAQ states that candidates should have the required provisional or original certificate as prescribed in the advertisement.

HAL Apprentice Stipend

The official HAL FAQ specifies different monthly stipend rates based on qualification and duration of the ITI trade.

For ITI apprentices, the stipend will be paid into an Aadhaar-seeded SBI savings account as specified in the notification.

ITI Apprentice Eligibility Conditions

Candidates applying for the 355 ITI Apprentice vacancies should note several specific conditions stated by HAL:

  • Only Indian nationals are eligible.
  • The candidate must have passed ITI in the relevant NCVT/SCVT-recognised trade.
  • Candidates already registered as apprentices with another company or those who have completed apprenticeship are not eligible under the stated conditions.
  • NAPS registration is required and the registration number must be entered in the application form, subject to the limited exception stated for passed-out ITI candidates awaiting the final-year result copy for NAPS registration.
  • The NAPS profile should be fully completed, including the mandatory e-KYC and beneficiary requirements.

HAL has also stated that apprenticeship can be undertaken only once in the same trade under the applicable apprenticeship provisions.

HAL Apprentice Reservation

Reservation for apprenticeship engagement will be provided according to the Apprentices Act, Government of India requirements and HAL guidelines. The ITI notification specifies the following quotas:

For PwD candidates, the percentage of disability should not be below 40%. OBC candidates must produce the required Non-Creamy Layer and caste certificate in Central Government format, while EWS candidates must have a valid Income and Asset Certificate.

HAL Apprentice Selection and Merit

For ITI candidates, HAL states that the merit score will be calculated by giving 70% weightage to SSC/Class 10 marks and 30% weightage to ITI marks, considering marks from all semesters.

For Engineering Graduate, Diploma and Non-Technical Graduate candidates, the official FAQ states that merit is determined according to marks in the relevant passing marksheet/certificate.

Shortlisted candidates will subsequently undergo physical document verification. Original certificates and marksheets must be produced; verification will not be completed solely on photocopies or digital versions.

Application Fee for Apprentice Vacancy

There is no application or registration fee for the HAL apprenticeship recruitment. HAL’s notice explicitly states that candidates do not need to pay any application or registration charges.

How to Apply for HAL Apprentice Recruitment 2026

ITI candidates need to complete both registration and application steps rather than simply submitting an application directly.

  1. Register on the NAPS apprenticeship portal using Class 10 and ITI educational details.
  2. Obtain the system-generated NAPS registration number and ensure the candidate profile is fully completed.
  3. Complete the mandatory e-KYC and other required NAPS profile information.
  4. Upload the required original scanned documents, including Aadhaar, SSC certificate/marksheet, ITI certificate and marksheets and bank details, as applicable.
  5. Open HAL’s prescribed ITI application form through the link/QR code provided in the official notification.
  6. Enter the details exactly according to supporting documents and submit the application.
  7. Graduate and Diploma candidates should follow the applicable NATS 2.0 registration and application procedure specified by HAL.
  8. Complete the application process no later than September 4, 2026.

Candidates shortlisted for apprenticeship will have to report to HAL Nasik for document verification and subsequently join on the prescribed date. At joining, shortlisted candidates are also required to produce the stipulated medical fitness certificate and police verification report.
