GRID-INDIA Executive Trainee Recruitment 2026 Notice Out: Apply to 52 Electrical and Computer Science Vacancies Through GATE 2027

Grid Controller of India Limited (GRID-INDIA) has announced recruitment for 52 Executive Trainee positions in Electrical and Computer Science disciplines through GATE 2027. The recruitment comprises 37 Executive Trainee (Electrical) and 15 Executive Trainee (Computer Science) vacancies.

Candidates seeking to apply for GRID-INDIA Executive Trainee Recruitment 2026 must appear and qualify in the relevant GATE 2027 paper. Electrical candidates require the Electrical Engineering (EE) paper, while Computer Science candidates must appear for Computer Science and Information Technology (CS). The GRID-INDIA online application window will open after the declaration of GATE 2027 results, with the exact registration schedule to be announced separately.

Applicants generally require a full-time regular B.E., B.Tech, B.Sc Engineering or Integrated Dual Degree in the prescribed discipline with at least 65% marks or equivalent CGPA. Selection will give 85% weightage to GATE 2027 marks, 3% to Group Discussion and 12% to Personal Interview. The maximum age is 28 years as on July 31, 2027.

GRID-INDIA Vacancy Details

The 52 Executive Trainee vacancies are divided between Electrical and Computer Science, with Electrical accounting for 37 positions and Computer Science for 15.

Executive Trainee Electrical Category-Wise Vacancies

The Electrical recruitment includes three backlog vacancies within the stated category distribution. PwBD reservation is horizontal and should not be added separately to the total vacancy count.

Executive Trainee Computer Science Category-Wise Vacancies

PwBD reservation is also applicable to the Computer Science recruitment according to the identified disability categories prescribed for the post.

Educational Qualification and GATE 2027 Requirement

Executive Trainee – Electrical

Candidates require a full-time regular B.E., B.Tech, B.Sc Engineering or Integrated Dual Degree in one of the prescribed Electrical disciplines, including:

• Electrical Engineering
• Electrical (Power)
• Electrical and Electronics Engineering
• Power Systems Engineering
• Power Engineering (Electrical)

Applicants must have secured at least 65% marks or an equivalent CGPA and must appear and qualify in the GATE 2027 Electrical Engineering (EE) paper.

Executive Trainee – Computer Science

Candidates require a full-time regular B.E., B.Tech, B.Sc Engineering or Integrated Dual Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology with at least 65% marks or equivalent CGPA.

Applicants must appear and qualify in the GATE 2027 Computer Science and Information Technology (CS) paper.

Final-year or final-semester students expecting their results by August 14, 2027 may also apply, subject to the prescribed condition of having at least 65% aggregate marks in their pre-final examinations.

Selection Process and Weightage

GRID-INDIA will use GATE 2027 performance as the primary component of the selection process. Shortlisted candidates will subsequently participate in Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

There are no qualifying marks specified for Group Discussion.

Candidates must, however, qualify the Personal Interview. The minimum qualifying requirement is 40% for UR/EWS candidates and 30% for OBC-NCL, SC, ST and PwBD candidates.

A behavioural assessment will also be used as an input during the interview process. Only candidates who qualify the Personal Interview will be considered for final empanelment.

GRID-INDIA Executive Trainee Salary

Selected candidates will undergo one year of on-the-job training and will be placed in the E2 grade with a pay scale of ₹50,000–₹1,60,000.

On successful completion of training, candidates will continue at the E2 level subject to the applicable conditions.

The compensation package also includes applicable benefits such as Performance Related Pay, company-leased accommodation or HRA, conveyance reimbursement, mobile facility, group insurance, personal accident insurance, PF, gratuity, pension, leave encashment and other admissible benefits.

Age Limit

The maximum age for Executive Trainee applicants is 28 years as on July 31, 2027.

Application Fee

General, OBC-NCL and EWS candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of ₹500.

SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and GRID-INDIA departmental candidates are exempt from payment of the application fee.

Service Agreement Bond

Selected candidates will be required to execute a service agreement bond to serve GRID-INDIA for at least three years after completion of training.

The bond amount is ₹5 lakh for General, OBC-NCL and EWS candidates and ₹2.5 lakh for SC, ST and PwBD candidates.

Important Dates
