Selected candidates will be appointed to Group-C Technician (1) posts at Pay Matrix Level-2.

In addition to basic pay, selected candidates will be eligible for Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance and other benefits applicable to CSIR employees under the relevant rules.
CSIR Technician Selection Process 2026
The selection procedure consists of three main stages:
- Screening of Applications
- Trade Test – Qualifying in Nature
- Competitive Written Examination – Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III
Applications will initially be scrutinized by the Screening Committee. Candidates meeting the screening requirements will proceed to the Trade Test.
The Trade Test is qualifying in nature. Candidates who qualify will be eligible for the competitive written examination.
Paper-II and Paper-III will be evaluated only for candidates who obtain the prescribed minimum threshold marks in Paper-I. The final merit list will be prepared solely on the basis of marks secured in Paper-II and Paper-III.
The Selection Committee will determine the applicable minimum threshold marks for the Trade Test and written papers.
