Candidates must have passed SSC/10th Standard or an equivalent examination with Science subjects and obtained at least 55% marks.

Along with the school-level qualification, applicants must meet one of the following technical training or experience requirements:

• ITI Certificate or National/State Trade Certificate in the relevant trade; or
• Two years of full-time apprenticeship experience as an apprentice trainee from a recognized institution; or
• Three years of relevant trade experience in a Government organization, Public Sector Undertaking, Autonomous Body or related organization.
