Cochin Shipyard Internship 2026: 227 Vacancies for ITI, 10th, Diploma and Graduate Candidates

Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has announced 227 internship vacancies for candidates from ITI, SSLC, HSE, Diploma, Graduation and Post Graduation backgrounds. The internships will be offered at Cochin Shipyard in Kochi, Kerala for a period of nine months under the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS).

The Cochin Shipyard Internship 2026 notification, dated August 26, covers a wide range of trades and disciplines, including Electrician, Fitter, Welder, Machinist, Painter, Sheet Metal Worker, Marine Fitter, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nursing, Pharmacy, clerical work and Hindi. Candidates selected by CSL will receive a monthly stipend of either Rs. 11,000 or Rs. 13,000, depending on their qualification category.

Of the 227 Cochin Shipyard internship seats, 92 are earmarked for ITI trades and 80 for SSLC-level positions. Another 27 Warehouse Assistant seats are available for HSE/ITI candidates, while Diploma holders have 16 seats. There are also 11 Clerical internship seats for graduates and one Hindi internship for a postgraduate candidate.

Cochin Shipyard Internship 2026 Notification

Cochin Shipyard Limited, a Miniratna Schedule ‘A’ Government of India company, will engage the selected candidates as interns for nine months. Applications and internship offers will be handled through the Prime Minister Internship Scheme portal.

Cochin Shipyard Vacancy 2026: 227 Internship Seats

The 227 seats are divided into six qualification categories, allowing candidates from Class 10 through postgraduate level to participate, subject to the discipline-specific requirements.

Cochin Shipyard ITI Internship 2026

CSL has allocated 92 seats across 18 ITI trades. Electrician, Fitter and Sheet Metal Worker have 10 seats each, while nine positions are available for Welders.

Candidates applying for these positions must have passed Class 10 and hold a National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the relevant ITI trade.

Cochin Shipyard SSLC Internship Vacancies

Another 80 internship seats are available for candidates with a Class 10/SSLC qualification.

These positions carry a stipend of Rs. 11,000 per month.

Cochin Shipyard Warehouse Assistant Internship

CSL is offering 27 Intern Warehouse Assistant seats for candidates with HSE/Class 12 or an ITI National Trade Certificate.

Diploma Internship at Cochin Shipyard

Sixteen internship seats have been allocated to Diploma holders across engineering and other professional disciplines.

Applicants must possess the relevant Diploma in Engineering or Technology from a recognized State Council/Board of Technical Education, university or institution, as applicable.

Diploma interns will receive Rs. 13,000 per month.

Cochin Shipyard Graduate Internship 2026

CSL has announced 11 Clerical internship seats for graduate candidates.

Eligible qualifications include BA, B.Sc., B.Com., BBA and BCA and other permitted graduate qualifications, subject to the scheme conditions. Performing Arts and B.Tech qualifications are excluded from this particular Graduate category.

Cochin Shipyard Hindi Internship

One postgraduate internship seat is available for the Hindi discipline.

Eligibility Criteria

The educational requirement varies according to the type of internship, while the stated age requirement is 18 to 25 years across the categories.

Candidates Not Eligible for CSL Internship

The Prime Minister Internship Scheme also specifies categories that cannot participate in the programme.

Candidates are ineligible if they fall under conditions including:

• Graduates or postgraduates from IITs, IIMs, National Law Universities, IISERs, NIDs, IIITs or IISc.
• Candidates holding CA, CMA, CS, MBBS, BDS, MD, MS, MBA or equivalent, MPhil or PhD qualifications.
• Candidates currently participating in another skill, apprenticeship, internship or training programme sponsored by the Central or a State Government.
• Candidates who have already completed apprenticeship or training under NATS or NAPS.
• Candidates whose family income exceeded Rs. 12 lakh in the preceding financial year.
• Candidates who have a family member employed as a permanent or regular government employee.

Cochin Shipyard Internship Stipend

The monthly amount depends on the candidate’s qualification category.

The stated stipend is inclusive of the applicable DBT component from the Government of India.

CSL will not provide boarding or lodging, and travel expenses are not admissible under the stated internship conditions.

Cochin Shipyard Internship Selection Process

There is no separate written examination specified for the 227 internship seats. Initial shortlisting will be based on the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed educational qualification for the relevant trade or discipline.

If candidates have equal marks, relative merit will be determined based on seniority in age.
