Cochin Shipyard Apprentice Recruitment 2026: 139 Graduate and Diploma Posts through NATS

Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), a Government of India Mini Ratna Schedule ‘A’ company, has announced 139 apprenticeship vacancies for candidates domiciled in Kerala. The Cochin Shipyard Apprentice Recruitment 2026 includes 78 Graduate Apprentice and 61 Technician (Diploma) Apprentice positions across engineering, technology and commercial disciplines.

Candidates who passed the relevant Degree or Diploma qualification during 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026 can apply, provided they meet the Kerala domicile and other apprenticeship eligibility conditions. Graduate Apprentice applicants require a Degree in the relevant Engineering or Technology discipline, while Technician Apprentices require a relevant Diploma in Engineering/Technology or the prescribed Commercial Practice qualification.

There will be no written examination for the selection. Candidates will initially be shortlisted according to marks obtained in the qualifying examination, followed by certificate verification and medical fitness requirements. Online applications through the NATS portal are being accepted from August 12 to September 1, 2026.

Cochin Shipyard Limited has invited applications for one-year apprenticeship training for 139 Graduate and Technician (Diploma) Apprentice positions at Kochi, Kerala. The recruitment is specifically open to candidates having domicile in Kerala.

Applicants must register and apply through the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal. Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the applicable apprenticeship provisions are not eligible.

The 139 apprenticeship positions are divided between Graduate and Technician (Diploma) categories.

Eligibility Criteria

Only candidates having domicile in Kerala are eligible to apply for the notified Cochin Shipyard apprenticeship positions.

Applicants must have passed their qualifying Degree or Diploma examination during 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026. Candidates should also be at least 18 years old as on September 1, 2026.

Candidates who have previously undergone or are presently undergoing apprenticeship training under the applicable Apprentices Act provisions are not eligible. Where an applicant possesses an equivalent qualification, the required Equivalency Certificate must be produced where applicable.

Educational Qualification

Graduate Apprentice

Candidates must possess a Degree in Engineering or Technology in the relevant discipline from a recognized/statutory university or an equivalent qualification recognized for apprenticeship purposes.

Technician (Diploma) Apprentice

Applicants require a Diploma in Engineering or Technology in the relevant discipline from a recognized institution.

Candidates applying under Commercial Practice must possess the relevant qualification prescribed for that apprenticeship discipline.

Applicants should verify the discipline-wise qualification requirements in the official CSL notification before applying through NATS.

Age Limit

Candidates must have attained at least 18 years of age as on September 1, 2026.

Other age-related conditions, where applicable, will be governed by the relevant apprenticeship provisions and conditions specified in the official notification.

Cochin Shipyard Apprentice Stipend

The selected candidates will receive a stipend as prescribed under the applicable apprenticeship norms.

Selection Process

Cochin Shipyard will shortlist candidates based on the percentage of marks obtained in their respective qualifying examinations. The subsequent process includes verification of certificates and medical fitness.
