BSA Gorakhpur KGBV Vacancy Details 2026

The 132 vacancies are divided between KGBVs for Classes 6–8 and upgraded residential schools covering Classes 9–12.

KGBV Classes 6–8 Vacancies

The 48 positions in Classes 6–8 schools include teaching, accounting, cooking and support staff vacancies.

Upgraded KGBV Classes 9–12 Vacancies

Another 84 positions are available in upgraded KGBVs. These include four Principal posts and PGT vacancies across seven subjects.

Educational Qualification

Qualifications vary according to the position. Principal applicants require a postgraduate qualification with B.Ed. and the prescribed experience. PGT applicants need a postgraduate degree in the relevant subject along with B.Ed. or an equivalent qualification.

For Classes 6–8, Full-Time Teacher applicants require the relevant graduate-level qualification along with B.Ed./D.El.Ed. as applicable. Computer Part-Time Teacher applicants require graduation in Computer Science or a related field, or the prescribed recognized computer qualification. Candidates for Art, Craft and Music positions need graduation with relevant training.

Accountant applicants require a Commerce degree with computer knowledge. Lab Assistant candidates need Intermediate in Science along with the prescribed laboratory technique diploma.

Office Superintendent/Clerk applicants require Intermediate along with computer and typing proficiency. The stated typing requirement is 25 words per minute in Hindi and 30 words per minute in English, along with the required computer certificate.

Head Cook, Assistant Cook, Peon and Chowkidar applicants require Class 8 qualification and must satisfy the applicable medical fitness conditions.

Selection Process

The method of selection depends on the post. Teaching and specified technical positions will primarily be filled on the basis of academic merit or quality marks. Office Superintendent/Clerk candidates will have to qualify through the prescribed typing test, while selection for support staff positions such as Cook, Peon and Chowkidar is based on interview.

For teaching posts, academic marks are assigned weightage at different stages of education.

Where candidates have equal merit marks, preference will first be given to the older candidate. If the tie remains, alphabetical order of names will be used.
